This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional looking for the next step in their career. As a Manager for our Hybrid Cloud Storage & Data Protection Manager, you will be responsible for:

  1. Leading and managing a team of engineers: You will be responsible for hiring, training, and managing a team of storage, backup, and disaster recovery professionals. This includes setting goals and objectives, providing feedback, coaching, and developing team members, and managing their performance.
  2. Developing storage backup and disaster recovery strategies: You will be responsible for developing storage, backup and disaster recovery strategies that align with the Siemens Healthineers goals and objectives. This includes analyzing current systems, identifying gaps, and designing solutions that optimize data storage processes.
  3. Product development: You will be responsible for managing the product development activities including designing, architecting, and developing storage, backup and disaster recovery services to support the needs of the Siemens Healthineers applications.
  4. Managing storage, backup and disaster recovery budgets: You will be responsible for managing storage, backup and disaster recovery budgets, ensuring that costs are optimized and within budget constraints.
  5. Ensuring compliance: You will be responsible for ensuring that the Hybrid cloud Storage and Data Protection related services are compliant with Siemens Healthineers IT compliance system.

  1. You have a proven track record in designing and building storage, backup & disaster recovery solutions in both on-premises and cloud.
  2. You are expert at requirement engineering, translating business language into technical solutions.
  3. You know how to work in an agile environment, and you can scope and define your and your team’s work to provide transparency into progress and outcomes.
  4. You can interact with customers and other stakeholders on eye-level, establishing a trustful relationship, managing timelines and commitments e2e.
  5. You are a technical leader and now want to make first steps in your people management career by leading a team of 8-10 technical experts.

Required skills to have for the success of this role:

  1. Overall 15+ years’ experience in IT and recent 5 years in hybrid cloud.
  2. Knowledge of storage technologies & Protocols: Deep understanding of various storage technologies such as direct-attached storage (DAS), network-attached storage (NAS), and storage area networks (SAN) and storage protocols such as iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, and CIFS.
  3. Familiarity with storage management software: Experience in using storage management software such as EMC, NetApp, and cloud storage technologies such as Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure blob storage, and Azure Data Lake storage.
  4. Understanding of storage security: Experience in implementing security measures to ensure data is protected from unauthorized access.
  5. Knowledge of backup technologies: Deep understanding of various backup technologies such as Commvault, Cohesity & Veritas Backup.
  6. Knowledge of backup and recovery: Experience in developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data is protected in case of a disaster or data loss.
  7. Understanding of backup scheduling & retention policies: Experience in developing and implementing backup schedules to ensure data is backed up at appropriate intervals and backup retention policies.
  8. Understanding of backup encryption: Experience in implementing backup encryption to ensure that data is protected from unauthorized access.
  9. Familiarity with disaster recovery planning & technologies: Experience in developing and implementing disaster recovery plans to ensure that data can be recovered in case of a disaster.
  10. DR Testing and Validation: Expertise in testing and validation techniques, including scenario testing and failover testing.
  11. DR Risk Management: Skills in assessing risks and identifying potential threats, so that effective risk management strategies can be developed and implemented.
  12. Understanding of virtualization: Understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  13. Familiarity with compliance regulations: Familiar with data storage, backup and recovery regulations such as HIPAA, SOX, and GDPR.
