Job summary

Cubic Transportation Systems in India is seeking a System Test Engineer to drive system-level testing across projects. You will coordinate with multiple internal engineering teams to develop system requirements analysis, configuration data and automated test activities to ensure required system performance and reliability standards are designed in and verified.

The incumbent will lead design, development and test activities from the system requirements view, working under general supervision.

Qualifications

• Must have experience with system test planning and execution.
• Proficiency with test management tools such as HP Quality Center or JIRA.
• Knowledge of scripting languages and test automation tools (e.g., Selenium).
• Able to handle multiple tasks and coordinate with team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Responsible for the technical planning, coordination and conduct of test activities at the system level across projects. The incumbent will work with multiple internal engineering teams to develop system requirements analysis, system configuration data and automated test activities to ensure required system performance and reliability standards are designed in and verified. The essential function is to drive design, development and test activities from the system requirements view. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will exercise discretionary decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Review the requirements, specifications, and technical design documents and provide meaningful feedback
• Works closely with management to develop and coordinate system test concepts and objectives.
• Manages one or more System Test Personnel and drives their day-to-day activities.
• Works closely with software developers to create software test work products including test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of the project requirements. Be well versed with defining test specifications and test instructions based on changing or incomplete project requirements.
• Follow the test process and report the bugs
• Preparation of a comprehensive project test report.
• Prepares software test status reports and presents status to management and customers.
• Performs procedure validations, software builds, and test administration.
• Traces system requirements from customer specifications to test cases.
• Conducts integration and formal system tests.
• Maintains the test requirements database.
• Perform through regression test as when bugs are resolved
• Prepares presentation material and leads Test Readiness Reviews.
• Work closely with Engineering, with direct involvement from Analysis and Design phase of the product itself, to ensure better and timely product delivery
• Communicate clearly and effectively with staff at different locations to ensure coordination for work done in India office
• Report work progress and any problems faced to the Test Lead or Project Manager as required
• Keeps abreast of improvements in system test engineering techniques.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
• Have a good communication within the team and be an active team member
• Interfaces with hardware, software, and systems engineers to evaluate test alternatives.
• Performs other system test engineering duties as required to meet contractual requirements.
• Actively drives the management and resolution of system ARQs and Issues.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Desired test Management tools - HP Quality Center/ JIRA
• Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
• Good to have knowledge and experience in scripting languages and using tools like Selenium or any other Test Automation tools.
• Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize the work
• Able to co-ordinate with team members professionally and Lead without any attitude
