Job summary

Alstom Bengaluru seeks an experienced embedded systems verification and validation engineer to drive global V&V campaigns, design tests, and ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards. You will define test environments, collaborate across system, project, product, quality and safety teams, and contribute to DevOps, CI/CD, and containerized testing with Docker or Podman.

15+ years of experience and strong C/C++, RTOS, networking knowledge preferred; exposure to European customers

Qualifications

• 15+ years in verification and validation of complex embedded systems.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD development, including maintaining CI/CD frameworks.
• Proficiency in C, C++ and scripting languages (Python).
• Experience with RTOS (Linux, VX Works, QNX) and hardware-based testing.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP networking.
• Familiarity with CENELEC SIL4 / DO178A / DO178B is a plus.
• Hands-on with black-box testing and containerization tools like Docker or Podman.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to global V&V strategy and define V&V plans.
• Specify and design test architecture and test cases for embedded systems.
• Prepare and perform test sessions, generate test reports and change requests.
• Conduct customer acceptance tests and participate in site tests if applicable.
• Perform SW/SW and HW/SW integration and validation.
• Manage V&V artifacts under configuration management.
• Ensure traceability of tests against requirements.
• Collaborate on workload estimation and project scheduling.

You’ll play a key role in delivering validation campaigns that ensure our systems meet the highest quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) standards. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including system, project, product, quality, and safety teams, contributing to global V&V strategies, and designing and performing tests, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of specifying, designing, and validating test environments and tools, but also investigating and resolving defects identified during testing.

• Contributing to global V&V strategy definition and collaborating on V&V plans

• Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Engineering – IT, CS, ECE, EEE, or equivalent
• 15+ years of experience in the verification and validation of complex embedded systems
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD development, including maintaining and sustaining CI/CD frameworks
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++ and scripting languages (e.g., Python)
• Experience with RTOS (Linux, VX Works, QNX) and hardware based testing
• Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP etc
• Familiarity with standards such as CENELEC SIL4 / DO178A / DO178B
• Skills in black-box software testing, automating software tests, and containerization tools like Docker or Podman
• Demonstrated ability to guide, influence, and collaborate in a matrix organization
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Experience working with European customers is a plus but not mandatory
