Emergent is building autonomous coding agents that generate, test, and deploy production apps from plain-language intent. We solve correctness, reliability, and scale in real production systems and impact millions of users worldwide.

As a UX Writer, you will own content across the product, collaborating with product managers, designers, engineers, and researchers to translate complex AI concepts into clear experiences that drive activation and adoption.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of hands-on experience in UX Writing, Content Design, Product Writing, or a closely related field.
• Strong experience writing for digital products, shaping user experience with language.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts into clear product experiences.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Researchers, and Engineers.
• Solid understanding of UX principles, IA, user journeys, and usability.
• Excellent written English with high clarity, tone, and detail.
• Ability to develop and maintain voice-and-tone guidelines and terminology.
• Strong storytelling and communication skills with context-driven decisions.
• Experience with design and collaboration tools like Figma, FigJam, Miro, Notion.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity.
• A portfolio demonstrating impactful UX writing and content design.

Responsibilities

• Own UX writing and content design across the Emergent product, crafting clear and engaging experiences.
• Partner with Product, Design, Engineers, Researchers, and stakeholders from concept through launch.
• Translate complex product and AI concepts into simple, user-friendly language.
• Write and refine UI copy across onboarding, navigation, errors, prompts, and forms.
• Develop content strategies and voice-and-tone guidelines for a consistent product experience.
• Collaborate to understand user needs and translate insights into better experiences.
• Use content to simplify workflows, reduce confusion, and boost activation and adoption.
• Establish content standards, patterns, terminology, and reusable components.
• Scale content patterns with Design Systems and Product teams for consistency.

• Present content decisions to stakeholders with clear user and business rationale.
• Contribute to content operations and UX writing processes across the org.

What You'll Do

• Own UX writing and content design across the Emergent product, creating clear, intuitive, and engaging experiences for users

• Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, Researchers, and business stakeholders to shape product experiences from early concepts through launch

• Translate complex product, technical, and AI concepts into simple, accessible, and user-friendly language

• Write and refine UI copy across product flows, including onboarding, navigation, empty states, errors, notifications, tooltips, prompts, forms, and other interaction points

• Develop content strategies and voice-and-tone guidelines that create a consistent product experience across the platform

• Collaborate with UX Researchers and Product Designers to understand user needs, behaviors, pain points, and language preferences, and translate insights into better product experiences

• Use content to simplify complex workflows, reduce user confusion, improve usability, and drive activation, engagement, and adoption

• Establish and evolve content standards, patterns, terminology, and reusable content components across the product

• Work closely with Design Systems and Product teams to build and scale content patterns that can be used consistently across experiences

• Advocate for clear, inclusive, accessible, and human-centered communication throughout the product

• Present content decisions and recommendations to stakeholders, clearly articulating the user and business rationale behind them

• Contribute to and strengthen UX writing processes, documentation, content workflows, and content operations across the organization

What We're Looking For

• 4–7 years of hands-on experience in UX Writing, Content Design, Product Writing, or a closely related field

• Strong experience writing for digital products, with a deep understanding of how language shapes user experience and behavior

• Proven ability to simplify complex concepts and workflows into clear, concise, and intuitive product experiences

• Experience collaborating closely with Product Managers, Designers, Researchers, and Engineers in cross-functional product teams

• Strong understanding of UX principles, information architecture, user journeys, interaction design, and usability

• Excellent command of written English, with strong attention to clarity, tone, grammar, consistency, and detail

• Ability to develop and maintain voice-and-tone guidelines, content principles, terminology, and UX writing standards

• Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to explain and defend content decisions using user and business context

• Experience working with design and collaboration tools such as Figma, FigJam, Miro, Notion, or similar

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and incomplete information

• Portfolio demonstrating strong UX writing / content design work and the impact of content decisions on product experience, usability, or business outcomes

Good to Have

• Experience working on B2C products, consumer applications, AI-powered products, agentic AI, SaaS, marketplaces, or other complex digital products

• Experience designing content for AI interactions, AI-generated experiences, conversational interfaces, prompts, or agentic workflows

• Experience building or scaling content design systems, content guidelines, or UX writing operations

• Familiarity with user research, usability testing, experimentation, and product analytics

• Experience working on 0→1 products or early-stage products with high ambiguity and rapidly evolving requirements

• Experience with accessibility and inclusive content design

• Experience working with localization or designing content for global audiences
