Job summary

CARS24 is seeking an Evaluation Engineer to inspect used cars at customer locations and hubs, ensuring SOP‑compliant inspections and fair price recommendations for every car.

The role involves driving to client sites, documenting findings in the inspection app, estimating repair needs, and coordinating with procurement and operations to close deals.

Candidates should have auto/ME engineering background and be willing to travel locally.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI/degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and car components.
• Valid two-wheeler and four-wheeler driving license; ability to drive both.
• Willingness to do field work and travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Inspect used cars per leads and appointments following SOP.
• Check engine, transmission, suspension, interiors, exteriors, documents.
• Record findings in the CARS24 inspection app accurately.
• Estimate repair needs and suggest fair market price.
• Explain inspection results and pricing clearly to customers.
• Test-drive vehicles (manual and automatic) as part of evaluation.
• Meet daily inspection targets and manage turnaround time.
• Travel within city and nearby areas for field inspections.
• Coordinate with procurement and operations for smooth deal closure.

Role Summary

The Evaluation Engineer inspects and evaluates used cars for purchase at customer locations and hubs. The role ensures accurate, SOP-compliant inspections and a fair price recommendation for every car.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect used cars as per assigned leads and appointments, following the company SOP.
• Check engine, transmission, suspension, interiors, exteriors, structural condition and documents.
• Record all findings accurately in the CARS24 inspection app.
• Estimate repair needs and recommend a fair market price based on the inspection.
• Explain inspection results and pricing clearly and professionally to customers.
• Test-drive vehicles (manual and automatic) as part of the evaluation.
• Meet daily inspection targets and keep turnaround time (TAT) on track.
• Travel within the city and nearby areas for field inspections.
• Coordinate with the procurement and operations teams for smooth deal closure.

Requirements

• Diploma, ITI or degree in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering (preferred), or relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics, engines and car components.
• Valid two-wheeler and four-wheeler driving license, and the ability to drive both.
• Smartphone and willingness to use inspection apps.
• Good communication skills in the local language plus basic Hindi/English.
• Prior experience as a service advisor, mechanic, technician or car evaluator is an advantage.
• Willingness to do field work and travel locally.
