Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking an Underground Cable Engineer in Bengaluru to design distribution and transmission packages for underground projects, including manhole, conduit, and feeder design. You will perform routing analyses using CADD, work with teams of 5–10 engineers, and assess feasibility through route studies and cost estimates.

• BE/B.Tech in Civil/Elec or relevant field required.
• 2+ years of experience with DBCM, Ampacity studies, CYMCAP, pull calculations, electrical and civil specs, BOM.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop distribution and transmission voltage design packages for underground projects.
• Develop routing analysis for low to high voltage distribution and transmission lines using CADD and mapping.
• Coordinate with design teams of 5–10 engineers and designers.
• Assess construction feasibility via route studies, conflict analysis and cost estimation.
• Perform measurements and calculations for underground electric facilities on public/private utilities.
• Use simulation tools to evaluate scenarios and advise clients.
• Generate reports and visualizations to communicate results and trends.
• Ensure deliverables meet client satisfaction and QA/QC guidelines.
• Lead and mentor junior staff.

• Develop routing analysis for the design of low to high voltage distribution and transmission lines using CADD design and mapping software.
• Work with design teams of 5 to 10 engineers and designers.
• Determine construction feasibility through route studies, conflict analysis, and construction cost estimating.
• Perform measurements and calculations for underground electric facilities on public and private utility systems.
• Leverage commercially available simulation software and other tools to evaluate different scenarios and make informed recommendations to the client.
• Produce reports and visualizations to communicate technical results and interpretation of trends; effectively communicate findings and recommendations to all areas of the business.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to client’s satisfaction.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure that projects are following internal QA/QC guidelines.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of studies, reports, and construction design packages.
