Job summary

Blue Yonder Defense Solutions (BYDS) in Pune seeks a versatile UI Software Engineer to drive frontend design, cross‑platform desktop app development with Electron, and Android features, while integrating with Node.js backends. You’ll own delivery and collaborate across teams to ship new UI components and features.

You will work on desktop Electron packaging, SQLite data management, and UX improvements, ensuring robust, scalable interfaces in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3 - 6 years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of Android development experience using Android Studio.
• Deep experience with React.js — component design, hooks, state management (MobX, Redux, or similar).
• Strong proficiency with Electron.js, including main/renderer process architecture and packaging/distribution.
• Strong working knowledge of Node.js, including building APIs, handling file system operations, and writing clean asynchronous code.
• Hands-on experience with SQLite or other lightweight embedded databases (e.g., better-sqlite3).
• Demonstrated UX/UI design sensibility — ability to produce clean, user-friendly interfaces without relying on a dedicated designer.
• Comfortable working in an agile, multi-stakeholder environment with shifting priorities.
• Experience with desktop app packaging tools such as Electron Forge or electron-builder.
• Capable Java developer — able to read, debug, and write Java APIs to fulfill their own requirements or contribute to shared backend needs across teams.
• Proficient enough with Oracle SQL to independently write and analyze queries needed to deliver on requirements.

Scope: Blue Yonder Defense Solutions (BYDS) is looking for a versatile and motivated UI Software Engineer to join our team.
