Overview
Position Overview: A Travel Consultant is responsible for helping clients plan, book, and manage their domestic travel experiences. The role involves providing expert advice on travel destinations, accommodations, and transportation. The advisor ensures a seamless and enjoyable travel experience, catering to the specific preferences and needs of the clients.
Experience and Education
- Freshers or previous experience in the travel industry or customer service is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of domestic travel destinations and services is a plus.
- Any degree in Travel and Tourism recommended.
Key Responsibilities

Consulting with Clients
- Assist clients in identifying travel preferences and goals, including budget, duration, and type of experience (e.g., adventure, relaxation, cultural).
- Provide personalized recommendations for destinations, accommodations, activities, and transportation based on client needs and preferences.
- Offer advice on local events, festivals, and seasonal travel recommendations.

Trip Planning & Itinerary Creation
- Create customized itineraries for clients, ensuring that all aspects of their trip (flights, hotels, car rentals, excursions, etc.) align with their preferences and travel goals.
- Ensure that all necessary travel documents (e.g., bookings, confirmations) are organized and provided to clients ahead of time.
- Make recommendations for dining, entertainment, and local experiences to enhance the trip.

Booking and Reservations
- Handle reservations for domestic travel, including flights, trains, buses, hotels, tours, and other services.
- Manage payment processing and ensure that all bookings are confirmed and accurate.
- Communicate with suppliers to arrange accommodations and activities based on client requirements.

Customer Support and Problem Resolution
- Provide ongoing support to clients before, during, and after their trip, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Handle last-minute changes, cancellations, and rescheduling, offering alternatives and solutions when necessary.
- Serve as a point of contact in the event of emergencies, travel disruptions, or unexpected challenges.

Research and Staying Updated
- Stay informed about the latest travel trends, domestic destinations, accommodation options, transportation routes, and regulations.
- Continuously research new destinations, services, and experiences to provide clients with fresh ideas and exclusive deals.
- Attend industry events, webinars, and training sessions to remain knowledgeable about the domestic travel market.

Sales and Upselling
- Promote additional travel services such as travel insurance, car rentals, guided tours, and activities.
- Meet sales targets by offering clients packages, upgrades, or add-ons that enhance their travel experience.
- Assist in marketing campaigns or promotions to attract new clients and maintain customer relationships.
Skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to liaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with booking systems, online research, and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, CRM systems).
