Overview

Job Description for Transportation Specialist – NOC INDIA

NOC (Network Operations Center) is the central command and control center for Transportation Execution across the Amazon Supply Chain network, supporting multiple geographies including NA, India and EU. It ensures timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from FCs to carrier hubs. In case of any exceptions, NOC resolves issues and keeps stakeholders informed. NOC also analyzes network data to identify trends in exceptions and proposes process changes to streamline operations. Overall, NOC ensures the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and supports on-time customer delivery.

Purview of a Transportation Specialist

In this role, you will work with business and operations teams to resolve customer escalations, analyze historic results, and initiate programs in a fast-growing environment. You will drive improvements to visibility tools, methods, and processes to increase actionable data availability and granularity for internal and external partners. You will show strong ownership of customer issues, proactively initiate SOPs and process changes as required, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. You will seek simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems and demonstrate strong project-management skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communication with internal customers (CS, MM, LM, FC, Trans Program, HR).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling messaging and present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, mediation and problem-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership with a bias toward action and a culture of ownership and learning.
  • Collaborative management environment and clear formal and informal communication with remote and local management teams.
  • Strong understanding of process improvement techniques.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics
  • Experience with Excel
