The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with leading transport platforms (Ciena, Infinera, Nokia), and the ability to manage incidents and provide timely customer updates in a fast-paced 24x7 environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Telecom, Service Provider, or NOC Ops required.
• Proficient in SONET, SDH, Optical Transport, and DWDM.
• Experience with TAC, incident management, and customer updates.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Optical Transport and DWDM networks, respond to alarms.
• Perform fault isolation, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to restore services.
• Create, update, escalate, and close transport tickets within SLA.
• Plan maintenance and network augmentation during windows.
• Coordinate with TAC and field ops for issue resolution.
• Conduct network testing, validation, and repair coordination.
• Dispatch field technicians for maintenance and fault restoration.
• Provide timely customer updates and document incidents and resolutions.
• Use telemetry and monitoring tools (Adva/RFMS) for troubleshooting when access is limited.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Transport Network Engineer with experience in Service Provider/NOC operations to support and maintain Optical Transport and DWDM networks. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, experience with leading transport platforms, and excellent communication abilities to manage network incidents and customer updates effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor Optical Transport and DWDM networks and respond to alarms and network events.
• Perform advanced fault isolation, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to restore services.
• Create, update, **escalate**, and close transport network trouble tickets within SLA.
• Execute planned maintenance activities and network augmentation requests during maintenance windows.
• Collaborate with TAC teams, and field operations for issue resolution.
• Conduct network testing, validation, and repair coordination activities.
• Coordinate and dispatch field technicians for maintenance and fault restoration activities.
• Provide timely customer updates and maintain accurate documentation of incidents and resolutions.
• Utilize telemetry and monitoring tools (Adva/RFMS) for troubleshooting when direct device access is unavailable.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Telecom, Service Provider, or NOC Operations environments.
• Strong understanding of SONET, SDH, Optical Transport, and DWDM technologies.
• Hands-on experience with transport platforms including:
• Ciena 6500
• Ciena RLS
• Infinera (Fixed Grid & Flex Grid)
• Nokia 1830
• Nokia PSS32/16/4
• Good understanding of IP networking fundamentals and network troubleshooting concepts.
• Experience in incident management, technical coordination, and customer communication.
• Knowledge of Salesforce ticketing tool
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced 24x7 operational environment.

Preferred

• Experience in telecom transport network operations and maintenance.
• Exposure to network performance monitoring and service restoration processes.
