Job description

Apexon is an AI-first technology services firm that engineers Intelligent Enterprises. Our interconnected disciplines of Domain & Strategy, Cognitive Architecture, and Harness Engineering guide every engagement, helping clients deliver meaningful business outcomes while applying collective intelligence to confidently scale from early AI strategies to enterprise-grade production systems. For over three decades, we have helped organizations by leveraging our deep and practical expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Data & Analytics, Digital Engineering, and Experience, combined with our industry knowledge across Banking & Financial Services, Healthcare and Life Sciences to create lasting business value. Apexon is backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Everstone Capital.

Role Summary

This senior delivery leadership role is accountable for Apexon’s outcomes across a large-scale agentic delivery transformation and for building a trusted executive relationship with client leadership. The client retains ownership of the programme, delivery decisions, and final outcomes. This role ensures that Apexon’s contributions, including platform extension, coaching, governance, and capability transfer, deliver measurable and independently verifiable results. The successful candidate will integrate multiple workstreams, establish evidence-based governance, manage commercial commitments, and enable the client’s core team to operate the transformed delivery model independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own Apexon’s engagement outcomes, integrated delivery plan, scope boundaries, dependencies, assumptions, and delivery risks.
  • Lead relationships with client sponsors, engineering executives, and business leadership.
  • Run steering committees and programme-control forums that enable timely decisions on scope, priorities, dependencies, risks, and escalations.
  • Establish and co-chair a joint metrics governance forum with client stakeholders.
  • Facilitate agreement on performance baselines, metric definitions, target ranges, measurement methods, and validation outcomes.
  • Govern efficiency targets using a baseline-first approach, with targets jointly agreed after measurement and validated through before-and-after results.
  • Ensure efficiency improvements are not achieved at the expense of quality, system stability, regulatory compliance, and security.
  • Manage the engagement’s commercial model, including milestone-linked or outcome-linked fee mechanisms, documented assumptions, benefits tracking, and formal change control.
  • Integrate architecture, engineering, quality, compliance, change management, and capability-transfer workstreams into a single delivery plan.
  • Resolve cross-workstream conflicts, competing priorities, and critical dependencies.
  • Maintain a clear operating model in which the client owns delivery and decision-making, while Apexon designs, coaches, governs, and remains accountable for its contributions.
  • Prevent side‑channel decision‑making by maintaining transparent governance, communication, and escalation routes.
  • Lead stakeholder impact assessments, communications, adoption planning, resistance management, and transition activities.
  • Present engagement performance, risks, decisions, commercial status, and measurable outcomes directly to senior client leadership.
  • Lead Apexon’s participation in client programme reviews and executive governance forums.
  • Drive an evidence‑based exit strategy, assessing client capability readiness against jointly agreed criteria before Apexon steps back.
  • Ensure baselines and target ranges are jointly approved and that progress is reported using measured evidence rather than unsupported assertions.
  • Enable client leadership to verify outcomes independently, with clear alignment on scope, assumptions, validation methods, and commercial terms.
  • Ensure the client’s core team can operate the new delivery model independently at the conclusion of the engagement.
Mandatory Skills Required
  • 12+ years of experience in technology delivery.
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex, multi‑workstream transformation programmes.
  • Proven delivery leadership experience within life sciences, healthcare, or medical‑device software.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technology programmes in regulated environments.
  • Experience with enterprise software modernization, AI‑enabled delivery, engineering‑platform transformation, or comparable enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Strong programme leadership across architecture, engineering, quality, compliance, governance, and organizational change.
  • Experience owning budgets, benefits, delivery risks, dependencies, commercial assumptions, and change control.
  • Practical experience managing milestone‑based or outcome‑based commercial models.
  • Strong executive stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior engineering and business leaders.
  • Demonstrated change‑management capability covering stakeholder impact assessment, communications, adoption planning, resistance management, and sustainable transition to new ways of working.
  • Ability to establish measurable baselines, define target ranges, govern metrics, and validate outcomes using before‑and‑after evidence.
Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience leading capability‑transfer or build‑operate‑transfer engagements.
  • Experience supporting agentic delivery or AI‑led engineering transformation programmes.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Recognized programme management or change‑management certification.
