Job summary

Imerit in Pune is seeking a Transcriber for a 1-year contract to transcribe customer voice bot recordings in multiple Indian languages. The role is office-based and requires accurate listening and typing at 50 WPM, with careful handling of numbers and English loan words.

You will segment speech per guidelines, maintain consistent spelling, and escalate unclear cases. Price and QA feedback will be incorporated to meet agreed turnaround times.

Qualifications

• Languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
• Typing speed: 50 WPM.
• Transcriber will work on office-based mode in Pune, India.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe customer-side voice bot call recordings accurately in the assigned target language.
• Segment only the primary customer speech and follow segmentation rules.
• Produce lexical transcription without punctuation or special symbols and use the appropriate target-language script.
• Write numbers, dates, digits, abbreviations, and English loan words in the required lexical format.
• Apply contextual correction only when the word is unambiguous; otherwise preserve spoken content or use unintelligibility handling.
• Identify and handle distorted/unintelligible/background speech/overlap cases per guidelines.
• Incorporate calibration and QA feedback promptly and maintain quality/turnaround expectations.
• Escalate unclear or exceptional cases through the operations process.

• Transcribe customer-side voice bot call recordings accurately in the assigned target language.
• Segment only the primary customer speech and follow the prescribed segmentation rules, including minimum segment duration and non-overlapping segments.
• Produce lexical transcription without punctuation or special symbols and use the appropriate target-language script.
• Write numbers, dates, digits, abbreviations, and English loan words in the required lexical format while maintaining consistent spelling.
• Apply contextual correction only when the intended word is unambiguous from the sentence context; otherwise preserve what is actually spoken or use the prescribed unintelligibility handling.
• Identify and appropriately handle distorted, unintelligible, IVR, non-target-language, background-speech, and overlapping-audio cases as defined in the guidelines.
• Incorporate calibration and QA feedback promptly and maintain agreed quality and turnaround expectations.
• Escalate unclear or exceptional cases through the defined operations process rather than making unsupported assumptions.
