Job summary

Wabtec in India is seeking a Jr. Engineer Trainee to join our locomotive maintenance team. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on 4500 HP and 6000 HP locomotives, ensuring adherence to standards and timely completion.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering, readiness for 24x7 shifts, and basic Microsoft Office skills. Prior transport industry exposure is preferred; you will work in a shop environment with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering with 1-3 years applicable operations experience.
• Willingness to work in 24x7 operations - different shifts, various days.
• Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work in shop environment.
• Prior experience in the transportation industry will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and heavy maintenance of locomotives.
• Repair and maintain 4500 HP and 6000 HP locomotives within timelines and quality including all appropriate documentation.
• Encourage and maintain a safe work environment; keep work areas clean.

Essential Responsibilities

The Jr. Engineer Trainee will be responsible for Diesel electric locomotive repair and maintenance activities as per specified standards and work scope.

Role Summary / Purpose

The Jr. Engineer will perform act scheduled / unscheduled maintenance / Heavy Maintenance / wreck Repair of 4500 HP and 6000 HP locomotives, within given timelines and quality including all appropriate documentation.

• Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Responsible for compliance with local regulations and specific local customer safety policies in his work area.
