Job summary

Mouser Electronics in Bengaluru seeks a Trade Compliance Analyst to drive HTS/ECCN classification and ensure export/import compliance for electronic components.

Responsibilities

• Perform HTS and ECCN code research and assignment for products.

• Determine PGA applicability for HTS and ECCN codes.
• Interpret rulings and apply classification standards for exports.

Job description

• Performs technical data research, assessment and acquisition using the Internet, supplier websites, search engines, spreadsheets, or internal databases to determine the correct HTS code and ECCN Code.
• Reviewing product descriptions and technical data to determine import / export classification in accordance with the published Schedule (HTS) Schedules and other approved resources for Import/Export compliance.
• Research and audit import / export invoices and reconcile discrepancies.
• Assign appropriate Harmonized Tariff Codes (HTS), and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN’s) to all purchased and sold electronic products.
• Interpret Customs rulings, explanatory notes, and technical product drawing to determine correct classifications.
• Performs technical data research, assessment to determine the correct HTS code and ECCN Code including controlled electronic products.
• Have a strong understanding of the classification process and should be proficient in working on different categories in CCL.
• Review product descriptions and technical data to determine import / export classification in accordance with the published Schedule (HTS) Schedules and other approved resources for Import/Export compliance. Enter classification codes as per approved documentation standards.
• Administer internal audit processes to ensure accurate classifications and oversee record keeping related to Import / Export logistics and compliance along with providing classification research assistance for audits and customs requests.
• Research and audit Import / Export invoices and reconcile discrepancies.
• Determine application of Participating Government Agency (PGA) regulations for applicable HTS codes and ECCN’s for Imports/Exports.
• Electronic Design, Systems Design, Test Engineering, or Electronic Component Engineering experience required.
• Experience in Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Technical Services, trade compliance analyst, HTS code assignment, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN’s).
• Must be fluent in the English language, both verbal and written.
• Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic or any equivalent discipline.
