Job summary

JobItUs in Vapi is seeking a Tool Room Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in the automobile mould/toolroom sector. The role involves leading shifts in mould maintenance, planning processes, and ensuring quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical or Plastics, with strong communication and team collaboration skills. The position entails hands-on maintenance, tooling trials, KAIZEN initiatives, and close interaction with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/BTech in Mechanical or Plastics.
• 3–5 years of experience in tool room/mould maintenance.
• Familiarity with IATF documentation and quality systems (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift in charge for mould/toolroom maintenance.
• Plan and initiate process planning and resource management.
• Analyse machine and mould adaptability.
• Oversee mould preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Monitor tool rectification activities and corrective actions.
• Handle new mould inward inspection, mould trials and trials-related actions.
• Prepare monthly MRM data and drive continuous improvements.
• Interact with customers and suppliers on feasibility of new parts.
• Ensure compliance to QMS & EHS in shift operations; lead 5S and Kaizens.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Lead the shift In charge for Mould Maintenance- Toolroom.

• Ability in planning and initiating Process planning and resource management.
• Analyse machine & mould adaptability.
• Responsible for Mould preventive & breakdown maintenance.
• Monitoring tool rectification activities.
• Handle New mould Inward Inspection, Mould Trials, trouble shouting & corrective action.
• Responsible for all IATF documentation.
• Prepare monthly MRM data.
• Attending trials at tool maker place& take necessary corrective action for achieving aesthetical & dimensional requirement of the product.
• Manpower planning, job allocation & performance monitoring.
• Ensure safe work condition, safe work practices, & safety culture.
• Rejection control & resolve daily production problem.
• Interaction with customer & supplier regarding initiation of tool manufacturing feasibility of new part.
• Ensure compliance to QMS & EHS in the shift operation, driving continual improvements & Corrective actions
• Conduct KAIZENS & Improvement works for molds to accelerate production.
• Lead 5S team in shop floor.
