Job description

Fastly is an edge cloud platform company that enables customers to process, serve, and secure applications at the internet's edge. This Tier III Engineer role joins the Security Product Support team as a specialized technical expert providing deep, architectural-level support for Fastly's security suite including Next-Gen WAF, Bot Management, and DDoS mitigation.

What You'll Do

• Provide deep technical support and implementation guidance for Fastly's complete security product suite: Next-Gen WAF (On-Prem, Edge, Cloud), Bot Management, and product-level DDoS Protection
• Act as the final technical escalation point for complex, high-stakes customer security issues before handoff to Product Engineering
• Own and troubleshoot the most complex T2/T3 customer issues by reproducing environments in test labs and collaborating with Product and Core Engineering teams
• Build internal tooling, scripts, and automation using Python, Go, Node.js, or Rust to improve diagnostic efficiency and reduce time-to-resolution for security incidents
• Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers, author technical documentation and runbooks, and translate customer security challenges into actionable product insights

What You Need

• 6–8+ years of extensive experience in high-level IT technical support, DevOps, Systems Engineering, or Tier-3 Escalation roles with focus on cybersecurity and application security
• Proven experience installing, administering, and troubleshooting web server platforms (Apache, NGINX, IIS) across both Linux and Windows environments
• Strong scripting and coding ability in Python, UNIX Shell, PowerShell, Node.js, or Rust with proficiency in at least one language
• Deep knowledge of core internet technologies and protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS, TCP/IP) and ability to debug security software using diagnostic tools
• Deep familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for spinning up virtual environments and replicating security products

Nice to Have

• Experience with Systems Configuration Management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet) for streamlining software deployment
• Experience with modern monitoring, log pipelines, and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Looker, SIEM log streams)
• Direct experience developing or maintaining support integrations (Zendesk apps, Slack bots, PagerDuty integrations)
• Go (Golang) programming language proficiency

₹21–26 LPA (Cost to Company). Starting salary may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, shift pattern and location. Eligible to participate in Fastly's equity and discretionary bonus programs. Comprehensive benefits package included.
