Job summary

Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. in Bengaluru seeks an Associate – Product Management to guide risk and controls software through research, scoping, delivery and post-launch monitoring.

You will partner with global engineering and compliance teams to translate strategy into tangible technical execution and end-to-end solutions for regulatory tooling. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of Product Management, Operations, Change Management, or Project/Program Management experience including strategy and launch.
• Experience owning a backlog and knowledge of product management, engineering, UX, and research; familiarity with financial markets.

The Goldman Sachs The Core Engineering Division prevents, detects and mitigates regulatory and reputational risk across the firm, and helps to strengthen the firm's culture of compliance. As an independent control function and part of the firm's second line of defense, Compliance:

• Assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory and reputational risk
• Monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations
• Designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training

Non Financial Risk & ControlsEngineering is looking to fill a Product Manager role at the Associate level in Bengaluru.

Your Role

The Non Financial Risk & Controls Engineering Product Management team is responsible for guiding products through all stages of their lifecycle, including research, design, scoping, delivery, promotion and post-launch monitoring, tailoring solutions to meet the evolving needs of our users.

As a member of our team, you will partner globally across multiple divisions and engineering teams to create end-to-end solutions. You will be able to innovate and incubate new ideas, and you will learn and share knowledge across the organization. You will have an opportunity to work on a broad range of projects, such as developing and scaling risk assessment tools, visualizing patterns of customer or employee behavior in an investigative UI; outlining the regulatory change management workflow and solution; deploying AI solutions; and automating Compliance workflows with new platforms and virtual assistants.

You will help design our products and drive the delivery of Non Financial Risk & Controls Engineering projects. Your key responsibilities would include:

• Working with project sponsors and key stakeholders to establish a clear product strategy and road map and to define and actively manage project scope, plan, resource, budget, timeline, deliverables, and dependencies

• Collaborating with Engineering and Compliance stakeholders to translate product strategy into technical execution

• Conducting user research: current state assessments, job shadowing, requirements gathering

• Rationalizing user requirements across a broad cross section of Compliance and translating those requirements to “user stories” for delivery by the development teams

• Developing and managing the product backlog along with sprint execution and product launches

• Designing, developing and maintaining a project’s reporting framework, and communicating with key stakeholders on progress of the project

• Coordinating the flow and prioritization of requests from all stakeholders and product backlog

• Signing off on all functional delivery prior to production release

• Understanding and managing impact across integrated applications

• Maintaining connectivity with the user community: monitoring usage of the product post-launch and validating product performance

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience managing / launching technical products and projects
• 3+ years of experience in Product Management, Operations, Change Management, or Project/Program Management roles, including experience driving the product vision, design, and launch strategy
• Experience owning a backlog and knowledge of functional areas such as product management, engineering, user experience, user research; working knowledge of financial markets and products
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
• Must work well in a global team, multi-tasking environment and under pressure
• Adaptability and being comfortable with uncertainty
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability (and tenacity) to clearly express ideas and arguments in meetings and on paper
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Demonstrate exceptional prioritization skills whilst delivering quality work.

Knowledge of the financial industry and compliance or risk functions would be welcome but are not expectations.
