Job summary

Suruchi, Mumbai-based fabric, saree and dress material manufacturer established in 1976, is seeking textile designers specializing in Indian crafts for sarees and salwar suits. You will develop block prints, embroideries and ornamentation, forecast new looks for upcoming seasons, coordinate collections with mastercraftsmen nationwide, and manage production after finalization.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience working with crafts in textiles like sarees and womens wear

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience working with crafts in textiles like sarees and womens wear fabrics.
• Well versed with Indian textile crafts like dabu, kalamkari, ajrakh, applique, kantha.
• Knowledge of hand and machine embroidery techniques.

The role includes:-

• Developing block prints, embroideries and other surface ornamentation techniques for sarees and dress materials.
• Responsible for creating and forecasting new looks and concepts for the upcoming season.
• Co-ordinating and planning collections with mastercraftsmen working withus, across the country.
• Handling production of designs after finalization.

Requirements:-

• Well versed with the various Indian Textile crafts like like dabu, kalamkari, ajrakh, applique, kanthaetc.
• Well versed with different hand and machine embroidery techniques.
• An in-depth knowledge of colour matchings, contrasts and indian ethnic wear trends is a must.
• Minimum 3 years prior experience working with crafts in textiles like sarees and womens wear fabrics is aMUST.
