Job summary

Carelon Global Solutions India LLP in Bengaluru/Gurugram is seeking a QA Engineer I to perform end-to-end QA for data pipelines and applications. The role involves requirement analysis, test planning, test case design, and defect management, with a focus on SQL and Snowflake data validation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end QA activities including requirement analysis, test planning, test case design, execution, and reporting.
• Validate data in Snowflake (tables, views, streams/tasks) for accuracy and consistency.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation and test data setup.
• Test ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations and validate business rules.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing.
• Log, track, and manage defects in JIRA and drive closure with clear steps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Contribute to QA documentation and traceability matrices.
• (Good to have) Support or build automation for regression/data validation using Python.

JOB PURPOSE

Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking a QA Engineer I.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Perform end-to-end QA activities including requirement analysis, test planning, test case design, execution, and reporting.
• Validate data in Snowflake (tables, views, streams/tasks where applicable) and ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across sources and targets.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, root-cause analysis, and test data setup.
• Test ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations; validate business rules and data quality checks.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing for data and application features.
• Perform backend/API validation as needed (if applicable to the project).
• Log, track, and manage defects in tools like JIRA (or equivalent) and drive them to closure with clear reproduction steps and evidence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and improve test coverage.
• Contribute to QA documentation: test strategy, test plans, traceability matrix, test summary reports.
• (Good to have) Support or build automation for regression/data validation using Python and/or automation frameworks.

QUALIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree.

EXPERIENCE QA Engineer with 2+ years of hands-on experience in QA activities, with strong expertise in SQL and Snowflake testing/validation. You will work closely with data engineers, developers, and product stakeholders to ensure high-quality data pipelines, reports, and applications through robust test planning, execution, and defect management. Python and test automation experience are a plus.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• 2+ years of experience in QA/testing roles (manual and/or data QA).
• Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, window functions, aggregations, performance‑minded querying).
• Strong hands‑on experience with Snowflake: querying, validating datasets, understanding of Snowflake objects (tables/views/stages), and basic performance considerations.
• Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC, defect lifecycle, and QA best practices.
• Experience in data testing concepts: source-to-target validation, reconciliation, duplicate checks, null checks, referential integrity, and transformation validation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams.
