Job summary

UST is seeking an Embedded Test Engineer to design and execute test plans for embedded systems and sensor APIs in Coimbatore. The role covers requirement analysis, debug, and verification across hardware/software interfaces, with emphasis on white-box testing and CI/CD practices.

You will collaborate with development teams, utilize tools like JIRA, Python for data validation, and work within Scrum teams to ensure robust and reliable sensor solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in embedded testing across software and hardware interfaces.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting of sensor APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and version control (Git).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and test automation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and design test plans for functional and non-functional coverage.

Role Description

Embedded Test Engineer Activities Involved:

• Requirement Analysis
• Test Execution
• communication Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements. Perform white box testing on embedded systems, analyzing code and architecture to identify potential issues and areas for improvement. Collaborate with development teams to understand system architecture and design, enabling effective test case creation and execution. Utilize debugging tools and techniques to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the embedded software and hardware interfaces. Conduct performance, stress, and regression testing to validate the robustness and reliability of sensor APIs. Must be familiarized in controller peripherals like Timer, PWM, DMA, External memory interface etc. Should have good understanding about communication interfaces like SPI, I2C, USART and USB. Good experience in C and Embedded C programming Must be expertise in tools like compiler, linker and loader. Should be good in build system scripting. Make / Cmake. Should have handled test equipment like multimeter, logic analyzer, debuggers etc. Good experience in Python (modules like numpy, pandas, etc.) programming for data visualization and validation Good understanding of Sensor system solutions like accelerometers, gyroscope, etc. Basic knowledge in signal processing Experience with Agile development processes (Scrum) and tools Document test results, report defects, and track issues through to resolution using appropriate tools (e.g., JIRA). Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in embedded testing and sensor technologies. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
