Job summary

Utthunga Technologies in Bengaluru is seeking a Lead Test Engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience to drive end-to-end testing for edge computing systems, industrial protocols, and automation frameworks. You will design test strategies, write and execute test plans, and lead automation efforts across multiple environments.

The role involves Docker image management, hardware validation on Edge Box and Harmony P6, and continuous improvement of testing processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in testing complex edge computing systems and automation frameworks.
• Strong hands-on testing in functional, non-functional and performance areas.
• Proficient with Docker image creation, deployment, and validation.
• Experience with edge devices (Edge Box) and industrial hardware.
• Deep knowledge of Modbus and OPC UA protocols.
• Hands-on with Harmony P6 or similar hardware platforms.
• Certificate and license management testing experience.
• Strong test case design, execution, and reporting abilities.
• Lab setup and hardware integration testing exposure.
• Familiarity with Unix/Python/Shell scripting for tests.
• Awareness of CI/CD pipelines and test integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test strategies, plans, and cases.

Job Title: Lead Test Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Test Engineer with over 8+ years of experience in testing complex systems, particularly in edge computing environments, industrial protocols, and automation frameworks. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality through comprehensive testing strategies, including functional, non-functional, and performance testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test strategies, plans, and test cases based on product requirements
• Perform automation test development and execution across multiple environments
• Conduct protocol testing for industrial communication standards such as Modbus, OPC UA, etc.
• Manage and validate Docker image creation, deployment, and setup
• Work with Edge Box devices and Harmony P6 box for system-level validation
• Perform certificate management and license validation testing
• Set up and maintain test labs and hardware environments
• Execute various test types including:
  • Smoke Testing
  • Regression Testing
  • Functional UI (FUI) Testing
  • Non-Functional Requirement (NFR) Testing
  • Load and Performance Testing
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and defect troubleshooting
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure issue resolution and quality delivery
• Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies

Mandatory Skills (Must Have)

• Strong experience with Edge Box systems / IoT edge devices
• Proficiency in Docker (image creation, containerization, deployment)
• Hands-on experience in test automation (framework design + execution)
• Experience in PLC devices
• Deep understanding of industrial protocols:
  • Modbus
  • OPC UA
• Experience working with Harmony P6 box or similar hardware platforms
• Knowledge of:
  • Certificate management (SSL/TLS, security validation)
  • License management systems
• Strong expertise in test case design, execution, and reporting
• Experience in lab setup and hardware integration testing

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.)
• Experience in IoT platforms and industrial automation systems

• Knowledge of security testing and vulnerability assessment
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, etc.)
• Exposure to DevOps practices and Agile methodologies
