Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is recruiting for a Test Engineering Data Technician (EDT) to support test equipment reliability and data integrity.

The role involves capturing information from supervisors, building and implementing action plans, and monitoring progress to optimize test processes. The candidate will diagnose equipment problems, perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and use precise test tools.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose equipment problems and perform preventive maintenance.
• Extract data from applicable sources and ensure reliability of data.
• Provide communication between ES, Engineering, and Production.
• Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety.

Responsibilities

• Get the passdown from supervisors and planning reports.
• Build an action plan and implement it.
• Assess and evaluate plan results and make adjustments as needed.
• Monitor progress and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Diagnose equipment problems and implement solutions.
• Evaluate problems using validated troubleshooting methods.
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibrations on area equipment.
• Select and utilize accurate test equipment and tools.
• Stay ahead of process and equipment procedures.
• Communicate information to ES, Engineering and Production.
• Provide feedback to engineering to resolve chronic problems or experiments.
• Respond quickly and positively to customers and reprioritize work as needed.
• Assist engineer on projects to improve test equipment efficiency and yield.
• Perform FA analysis from PE requests.
• Identify and report hazards; follow safety procedures and PPE usage.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Get the passdown
• Capture information from supervisors and planning reports

Maintain equipment

• Diagnose equipment problems and implement solutions
• Evaluate problems using validated detailed troubleshooting methods
• Ensure record keeping/documentation in equipment tracking system
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Perform calibrations on area equipment
• Select and utilize accurate test equipment and tools
• Align with standardized procedures and guidelines
• Stay ahead of on process and equipment procedures
• Keep work areas clean and organized

Monitor equipment performance and address deviations

• Extract data from applicable sources
• Ensure reliability of data
• Measure process metrics
• Identify equipment inaccuracy or inefficiency
• Communicate trends of machine performance
• Contain deviation or inefficiencies

Communicate information to appropriate personnel

• Provide communication between ES, Engineering, and Production
• Communicate with production to relay problems, changes, or request information as needed

• Support continuous improvement projects to improve yield
• Propose and execute improvement projects to desired results

• Identify and promptly report hazards
• Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety.
• Operate and maintain equipment and tools within manufacturers’ and company guidelines.
• Use proper lifting techniques and work in an ergonomically correct manner.
