Job summary

Black Box in Bengaluru is seeking a Test Engineer- Embedded with 1–3 years of experience to join our hardware testing team. The role focuses on defining and executing manual and automated tests for embedded products.

You will work from our Bangalore site (Manyata Tech Park) with 5 days on-site work. Responsibilities include creating test environments, reporting defects, and collaborating with development and product teams to ensure product quality.

Qualifications

• Experience with embedded IA/ARM architectures.
• Knowledge of formal test methodologies.
• Ability to generate written reports and analyze data.
• Networking config, switching, DNS/DHCP.
• Configuring Windows OS/Windows Server/Linux.
• Good understanding of PC technologies, video, USB, audio.
• PowerShell and Linux scripting (Perl, Python, bash, etc.).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute test scenarios for embedded devices from requirements to production release.
• Analyze the efficiency, stability and scalability of integrated systems.
• Create and maintain test environments for product functionality validation and reliability/stress testing.
• Work with Development to develop best practices for product testability.
• Submitting defects, problem isolation and fault finding.
• Work with Product Management to understand requirement definitions.
• Investigate and reproduce customer issues.

Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for defining, developing and executing manual and automated test solutions for Black Boxs KVM, AV and Control-Room products.

Primarily Roles & Responsibilities

• Define and execute Test scenarios for embedded devices and systems from requirements to production release.
• Analyze the efficiency, stability and scalability of Integrated system
• Create and maintain test environment for product functionality validation and reliability/stress testing
• Work with Development to develop best practice for product testability.
• Submitting defects , problem isolation and fault finding
• Work with Product Management to understand requirement definitions
• Investigate and reproduce customer issues

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

• Experience of embedded systems based on IA or ARM architecture
• Knowledge of formal Test methodologies
• Ability to generate written Report and analysis data and trends
• Network configurations/debug switching/routing/DNS/DHCP
• Configuring and installation of Windows OS/Windows Server/Linux.
• Good understanding of PC technologies, Video, USB, Audio, etc.
• Power shell and Linux scripting languages ( any of the following Perl, Python, csh, bash etc)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Highly Desirable to have:

• Python programming skills for automation
• Automate testing of Web apps using tools such as Selenium and API testing
• Understanding and configuration of Virtualization systems – Windows Server and VMWare/Citrix
• Experience in usage of Jira and Agile development processes

Education/Experience Requirements

• 0-3 years of Software Development or Test Automation with relevant technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in either engineering, computer science, information systems, or related scientific/technical discipline
