Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Engineer with a strong background in API testing (manual and automation). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with popular testing tools and frameworks, CI/CD practices, and be comfortable working in Agile environments. This role involves validating backend services, automating API tests, and ensuring the overall quality of applications through consistent testing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform manual API testing using Postman to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.
Automate API testing using RestAssured or Playwright for faster regression and continuous validation.
Design and document test cases, test scenarios, and test data based on business requirements.
Log, track, and manage bugs using JIRA or Azure DevOps and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
Build and manage test automation pipelines using Jenkins integrated within CI/CD workflows.
Use Visual Studio or VS Code as primary IDEs to develop and maintain automation scripts.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
Ensure complete test coverage and conduct smoke, sanity, regression, and integration testing.
Provide detailed test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proficiency in API testing, both manual (Postman) and automated (RestAssured, Playwright).
Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, and other test management tools.
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
Good knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and JSON/XML formats.
Familiarity with SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Comfortable working in rotational shifts and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in end-to-end automation framework development for APIs.
Exposure to web UI automation tools or frameworks.
Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries for backend validation.
Experience working on real-time applications in domains like e-commerce or finance.
