Job summary

Empover iTech Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a seasoned QE Manager to lead our Quality Engineering function across multiple projects.

You will define quality strategies, drive testing standards, mentor QA teams, and ensure delivery of high-quality software products. Collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Project Management, you will promote shift-left/right practices, advance automation, and govern quality metrics throughout the SDLC.

About the Role

Empover iTech Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and results-driven QE Manager to lead our Quality Engineering function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and executing quality strategies, managing testing teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products across multiple projects. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership, process improvement, and stakeholder management.

As a QE Manager, you will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, and Business stakeholders to establish quality standards, drive automation initiatives, and promote quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Engineering Leadership
• Define, implement, and continuously improve the organization\'s Quality Engineering strategy and roadmap.
• Lead and mentor QA/QE teams across multiple projects, ensuring timely and high-quality software delivery.
• Establish testing standards, best practices, quality metrics, and governance across engineering teams.
• Foster a quality-first culture by embedding quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Test Strategy & Planning

• Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, estimation models, and release validation approaches.
• Define testing scope, objectives, risks, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects.
• Ensure appropriate coverage across functional, regression, integration, API, UI, performance, security, and user acceptance testing.
• Drive Shift-Left and Shift-Right testing practices to improve product quality.

Test Execution & Delivery

• Oversee the design, review, and execution of manual and automated test cases.
• Ensure effective defect management, root cause analysis, and timely resolution of quality issues.
• Monitor testing progress, quality metrics, and release readiness.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure high-quality code delivery and continuous improvement.

Test Automation & CI/CD

• Drive automation strategy and increase automation coverage across products.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for faster and reliable releases.
• Evaluate and recommend new testing tools, frameworks, and technologies.
• Improve test efficiency through reusable automation frameworks and continuous testing practices.

Stakeholder & Project Management

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, and Project Managers to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
• Communicate testing progress, quality status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, release planning, and retrospectives.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality and delivery commitments.

Process Improvement

• Continuously improve QA processes, methodologies, and quality standards.
• Define and track KPIs, quality dashboards, defect leakage, automation coverage, and release quality metrics.
• Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions to reduce production defects.
• Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards and industry best practices.

Team Leadership

• Mentor, coach, and develop QA engineers and automation engineers.
• Conduct performance reviews, skill development plans, and technical mentoring.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and capability building within the QA organization.
• Encourage innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Software Testing/Quality Engineering, with at least 23 years in a QA leadership or managerial role.
• Strong experience managing QA teams across multiple projects.
• Proven experience in both Manual and Automation Testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and DevOps environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and software quality assurance methodologies.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with test management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or Zephyr.
• Experience with automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• Understanding of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with SQL and database testing.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

Preferred Skills

• Strong understanding of Quality Engineering practices and Test Automation architecture.
• Experience in enterprise application testing and digital transformation projects.
• Knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Exposure to AI-assisted testing or modern testing tools is an advantage.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification is preferred.
