Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and extend test frameworks and infrastructure including system-level regression and smoke tests
- Develop automated tests, identify when and where tests should be written, and implement performance test plans
- Develop automation that minimizes fragility through architectural patterns that isolate coupling to the System Under Test (SUT)
- Develop and execute test automation for mobile use cases and offline functionality
- Assess the impact of changes across the codebase through code reviews and ensure best practices are being followed
- Explain features clearly - the intent, impact, value, and how they work; preferably possess working knowledge of at least one Appian subsystem
- Proficient with IDE, build processes, Git, Jira, and CI
- Break down features into story tickets; identify edge cases, technical risk, and troubleshoot defects to a single module
- Distinguish between test error and application error; narrow down defects to a single module or function
- Contribute to TAC documents and technical artifacts; challenge decisions with healthy debate; demonstrate a high standard of quality
- Demonstrate clear understanding of priorities; surface blockers quickly; complete work with minimal prompting
