This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Test Architect (Automation) based in India.

As a Test Architect (Automation), you will define and lead the automation strategy across complex software products and testing environments. You will work closely with Test Managers, Architects, QA Engineers, developers, and program leadership to ensure robust quality throughout the product lifecycle. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic ownership of automation frameworks, CI/CD quality gates, performance testing, and test optimization. You will help establish scalable testing practices, evaluate emerging tools, and drive consistency across QA teams. Your work will directly contribute to product stability, efficient delivery, and reliable releases. Accountabilities

• Design and maintain a comprehensive test automation strategy in collaboration with Test Managers and Architects, considering application architecture, technology stacks, and third-party integrations.
• Own the selection of automation tools, technologies, frameworks, and practices for component, feature, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
• Create scalable automation frameworks and establish best practices across QA activities, ensuring maintainability, performance, and long-term effectiveness.
• Provide technical leadership in CI/CD implementation by integrating automated testing and establishing appropriate quality gates within delivery pipelines.
• Guide QA Engineers in standardizing testing practices, tools, coding approaches, and automation processes, while providing training and technical support.
• Continuously evaluate new testing technologies and identify automation opportunities that can improve efficiency, coverage, reliability, and resource utilization.
• Optimize test execution through techniques such as parallel testing, code refactoring, and framework performance improvements.
• Analyze and determine appropriate automated and manual testing approaches, including acceptance, integration, system, and performance testing.
• Design performance test plans, execute performance tests, analyze results, and communicate findings and recommendations to project teams.
• Record test results, track defects, verify software fixes, and ensure automation criteria are satisfied before acceptance.
• Estimate testing effort accurately, coordinate testing activities with team members, and contribute to delivery planning.
• Participate in product design and development activities to ensure appropriate test coverage and alignment with end-user requirements, quality objectives, and release schedules.
• Collaborate with program and development management teams throughout the product lifecycle to address technical issues, resolve quality concerns, and maintain delivery commitments.
• Prepare defect tracking information and provide clear status reports on testing activities and quality metrics to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Demonstrable professional experience with programming languages, particularly Python, and strong ability to develop maintainable test automation code.
• Proven experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks using technologies such as Python, Playwright, Selenium, or comparable tools.
• Demonstrable experience designing and implementing performance testing frameworks, with hands-on knowledge of tools such as JMeter.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, automation architecture, CI/CD practices, quality gates, and test optimization techniques.
• Strong mathematical aptitude, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to investigate complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• High attention to detail and a consistent ability to deliver accurate, reliable, and high-quality work.
• Awareness of current technology and testing trends, with the ability to assess their practical value within a commercial software environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multinational and multicultural teams.
• Demonstrated professionalism, customer focus, integrity, adaptability, results orientation, and a strong team-player mindset.
• A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another relevant discipline is preferred; a four-year university or Master's-level qualification is an advantage.
• Experience in the air traffic management domain, including flight, flow, routing, or capacity planning, would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of AIXM 4.5 and AIXM 5.1 data models and experience testing Air Traffic Management systems would be considered a valuable additional asset.
