Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO, a global leader in precision instruments, seeks a Senior QA Automation Architect in India to define and drive the test automation strategy across desktop, devices, embedded systems, APIs and web apps.

You will architect scalable frameworks, evaluate cutting-edge tools, and lead non-functional testing while mentoring QA engineers and aligning QA goals with business objectives. Hybrid work model and extensive training are provided.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software quality engineering with 5+ years in lead or architecture roles.
• Expert C#/.NET or Python coding skills.
• Hands-on with at least two modern testing frameworks and API testing.
• Deep CI/CD and cloud-based testing grids experience.
• Strong microservices, databases, and design patterns knowledge.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Define, evolve, and execute the global test automation strategy across desktop, devices and embedded systems, API platforms and web applications.
• Architect, build, and maintain scalable, reusable, and modular test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Research, prototype, and select cutting-edge testing tools, libraries, and infrastructure to optimize the testing lifecycle.
• Embed automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to achieve true continuous testing.
• Establish blueprints for performance, load, security, and reliability testing.
• Set coding standards, conduct code reviews for test scripts, and mentor QA engineers.
• Partner with Product Managers, DevOps Engineers, and Development Leads to identify testing gaps.

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

• Strategy & Vision: Define, evolve, and execute the global test automation strategy across desktop, devices and embedded systems, API platforms and web applications.
• Framework Architecture: Architect, build, and maintain scalable, reusable, and modular test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Tool Evaluation: Research, prototype, and select cutting-edge testing tools, libraries, and infrastructure to optimize the testing lifecycle.
• CI/CD Integration: Seamlessly embed automated test suites into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to achieve true continuous testing.
• Non-Functional Testing: Establish blueprints and strategies for performance, load, security, and reliability (chaos) testing.
• Technical Leadership: Set coding standards, conduct code reviews for test scripts, and mentor QA engineers to elevate the overall technical capability of the team.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, DevOps Engineers, and Development Leads to identify testing gaps and align QA goals with business objectives.

What You Need to Succeed

• Education: BE / B.Tech / M.E / M. Tech
• Experience: Minimum of 12+ years in software quality engineering, with at least 5+ years specifically in architectural or lead capacity.
• Coding Mastery: Expert-level proficiency C#/.NET technologies or Python.
• Automation Ecosystems: Hands‑on mastery of any 2 modern testing frameworks [like Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium] and API testing utilities [like Postman].
• DevOps Infrastructure: Deep experience with CI/CD tools [e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps] and cloud‑based testing grids [e.g., Sauce Labs, BrowserStack].
• Containerization & Cloud: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud computing environments.
• Architecture Mindset: Strong understanding of microservices architecture, database systems (SQL/NoSQL), and design patterns.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of influencing senior leadership and guiding cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing AI/ML‑driven testing tools or self‑healing test automation.
• Relevant certifications [e.g., ISTQB Advanced/Expert Level, AWS Certified Solutions Architect].
