Qualifications

  • Knowledge of BICSI, TIA, ISO/IEC, and AS/NZS standards.
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and consultants.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Telecommunications Engineer to join our Technology Systems team in India, supporting projects across the APAC region. The role combines technical & design knowledge with, and team leadership qualitieswith responsibility for delivering complex ICT and telecommunications systems across a diverse range of sectors, including healthcare, aviation, transportation, commercial developments, mixed-use developments and Majorly data centres Projects

The Candidate should provide technical support and project delivery support across the full project lifecycle, from concept design and planning through to construction, commissioning, and handover. This includes leading the design, coordination, documentation, and delivery of complex ICT and telecommunications infrastructure while ensuring effective integration with architectural, electrical, mechanical, security, and other multidisciplinary systems.

The role requires strong expertise in structured cabling, telecommunications infrastructure, ICT networks, smart building technologies, and digital infrastructure, together with the ability to coordinate effectively with , Lead regions, clients, consultants, contractors, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams.

The candidate will be expected to ensure that designs and project deliverables comply with relevant Australian and international standards and industry best practices, including BICSI, TIA, ISO/IEC, and AS/NZS standards.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the role will involve reviewing technical deliverables, managing design coordination, supporting project delivery, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.

You will be designing IT networks within buildings, alongside multiple design disciplines, implementing leading edge network designs and technologies into real world applications.

Responsibilities
ICT and telecommunications Design

Lead the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of ICT and telecommunications systems for medium to large-scale projects across multiple sectors.

Develop and manage structured cabling solutions, including copper and fibre-optic infrastructure, in accordance with applicable BICSI, TIA, ISO/IEC, and AS/NZS standards.

Lead the design of passive and active network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and converged IP network solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Design comprehensive ICT infrastructure, including pathways and containment, telecommunications and equipment rooms, backbone and horizontal cabling, rack layouts, patching arrangements, cable management, and structured labelling systems.

Develop resilient, scalable, and high-availability network architectures, incorporating appropriate redundancy, diversity, capacity, uptime, and operational requirements.

Coordinate the integration of ICT and telecommunications systems with multidisciplinary building services, including MEP, AV, BMS, security, life safety, and other technology systems.

Provide technical guidance and design leadership to engineering teams, ensuring consistency, quality, compliance, and timely delivery of project documentation and technical deliverables.

  • Ability to produce detailed design and performance specification, subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
  • Ability to carry out feasibility studies for review by colleagues prior to issue.
  • Experience in producing detailed equipment schedules for issue with the discipline specific designs
  • Ability to create and interpret technical documents including reports, diagrams, drawings and specifications.
  • Experience providing design and technical advice on projects lead by seniors or take a discipline lead role on smaller projects.
  • Ability to work independently using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
  • Ability to work under the clear direction of others and interpret the needs of a project where applicable to the discipline.
