Job summary

Siemens in Pune is seeking a Senior Engineer – IXL SW to drive software engineering for railway interlockings. You will join a multinational team, delivering engineering of the IXL subsystem, and coordinating with System/HW teams to ensure compliance with signaling standards.

You will work on Indian railways projects and may travel onsite; relocation across India is required. Fluent English is essential; exposure to German/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably electrical/electronic with railway specialization.
• 5–8 years in railway transportation systems.
• At least 3 years on Indian railways interlocking projects delivering application logic.
• Experience in international ML & MT projects SW engineering is an advantage.
• Technical knowledge of subsystems of a railway project.
• Strong knowledge of interlocking logic and principles.
• Experience of HW/SW engineering and basic design of interlocking subsystem.
• Knowledge of DM/RM/CM, Quality Management, Test, Validation and Safety.
• Familiar with engineering processes and communication across departments.
• Familiar with CENELEC standards (EN 50126/28/29).
• Fluent English; German/Spanish a plus.
• Will relocate anywhere in India and travel onsite.

• Clarify customer requirements to fulfill system needs; provide training and support.
• Work with Indian & international rail projects; collaborate with Delivery Manager Interlocking.
• Support System and HW engineering teams of interlocking subsystems.
• Prepare and review documents per specifications for signaling and safety systems.
• Support defect analysis and participate in change control and QA.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer – IXL SW

Work Assignments

You’ll make a difference by:

Execute SW engineering of interlockings with special and general engineering tools & processes. Document preparation and performing reviews (e.g. specifications in requirement management, track layouts, interfaces). Customer clarification to fulfil system requirements; training and support both internally and at other locations.

• Member of Engineering team working for Indian & International rail automation projects.
• Work closely with and assist Delivery Manager Interlocking to deliver engineering of IXL subsystem
• You will execute SW engineering of interlockings with special and general engineering tools.
• You will support System Engineering, HW engineering teams of interlocking sub system.
• Preparation and review of documents in accordance with the specifications for the signaling and safety system in place and the requirements of the customer, taking into account the defined processes, guidelines and using the defined tools.
• You will support the team in defect analysis & its resolution as required and contribute in change control process as part of the defect management.
• Assurance of quality by applying the defined quality assurance measures and tools
• Interact with internal and external customers/stakeholders.

• You have Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in electrical / electronic engineering preferably with railways specific specialization.
• You carry 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in railway transportation systems.
• At least 3 years experience on Indian railways interlocking projects delivering application logic
• Experience in international ML & MT projects SW engineering is an advantage.
• You have technical knowledge on different subsystems of a railway project.
• You have strong knowledge of interlocking logic & principals.
• You have experience of HW / SW engineering & basic design of Interlocking subsystem.
• Knowledge of Support function (DM/RM/CM), Quality Management, Test, Validation and Safety.
• Knowledge of engineering processes and communication skills to interface different departments.
• You are familiar with CENELEC standards and processes (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129), railway signaling and design engineering
• Fluent English essential both written and oral, knowledge of German / Spanish an asset
• Willing to work as team member in international projects.
• Ready to relocate anywhere in India.
• Willing to travel for onsite works.
