Job summary

GlobalLogic Hyderabad is hiring for a Platform Operations & Infrastructure Engineer with 5–10 years of experience in hybrid cloud environments. The role requires hands-on expertise in AWS/Azure, IaC, CI/CD, containers, and observability to manage and optimize enterprise-scale platforms.

You will own day-to-day operations, design automation, build CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure reliability and performance across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid setups.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration within hybrid environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure services, including compute, networking, and IAM.
• Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate platform operations.
• Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Working knowledge of DML operations in relational (Postgres, Oracle) and NoSQL (Cassandra) databases.
• Understanding of Kafka event streaming concepts, including producers, consumers, and topic management.
• Familiarity with caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached for improving data access performance.
• Working knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, DNS, security principles, and zero-trust models.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of hybrid infrastructure supporting platform services.
• Ensure uptime, performance, and security across on-prem, AWS, and Azure environments.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, configuration, and deployment issues impacting platform reliability.
• Lead patching, updates, and configuration management with minimal oversight.
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive improvements in incident response and postmortem practices.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent frameworks.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform infrastructure and environment deployments.
• Establish documentation standards and reusable modules for consistent automation delivery.
• Architect, provision, and maintain compute, networking, and storage services across AWS, Azure, and on-prem.
• Engineer hybrid connectivity solutions and optimize data flow between data centers and cloud resources.
• Manage shared platform services such as container registries, configuration management, and identity systems.
• Partner with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to deliver stable, scalable platform environments.
• Execute and optimize DML operations within Postgres, Oracle, and Cassandra environments.
• Develop and maintain integrations with Kafka for event-driven data pipelines.
• Implement caching strategies (Redis, in-memory caches) to reduce query latency and improve performance.
• Support database performance tuning, data ingestion, and transformation activities aligned with governance standards.
• Develop and manage observability solutions leveraging Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or ELK.
• Implement proactive monitoring, log analysis, and metrics-based alerting for early issue detection.
• Lead automation for self-healing, scaling, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with SREs to improve MTTR and overall reliability.
• Contribute to Agile delivery, mentor juniors, advocate for DevOps, stay updated on tooling.
