Jobtailor is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Lead to oversee end-to-end ABAP development, enhancements, and integrations across multi-region SAP environments. You will drive architecture, design complex ABAP programs, and mentor a growing team while ensuring governance and security standards.

The role emphasizes cloud-based SAP BTP solutions, SAP S/4HANA knowledge, API management, and multi-team collaboration to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative SAP applications for global operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
8+ years of SAP domain experience.
3–4 years in a managerial or team lead role.
Experience designing complex integrations, cloud apps, and security architectures.
End-to-end SAP projects delivery from requirements to implementation.
Knowledge of SAP modules and business processes.
Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Strong troubleshooting in multi-region environments.
Experience with global, multi-regional teams.
Willingness to work shifts and on‑call.
Deep knowledge of SAP BTP services including Cloud Foundry/Kyma.
Familiarity with S/4HANA, API management and CAP/RAP/JAVA development.
Proven leadership, project delivery and stakeholder management.
Hands-on BTP development experience.
ABAP solutions within SAP BTP.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day SAP Application Management support as Level 2/3 specialist.
Lead ABAP development, customizations, enhancements and bug fixes across environments.
Design, develop, and implement complex ABAP programs and solutions.
Perform ABAP code reviews, tuning and optimization.
Collaborate with functional/technical teams to gather requirements.
Lead complex issue resolution and root-cause analysis.
Develop and maintain technical docs, configurations and procedures.
Mentor and train junior ABAP team members.
Drive automation, innovation, and SAP best practices.
Participate in on-call rotation and shifts as required.
Lead strategy and delivery of cloud-based SAP BTP solutions.
Oversee development, integration and innovation initiatives.
Ensure governance and security standards across teams.
Promote SAP Integration Suite, CAP, RAP and HANA Cloud adoption.

Job description

Provide day-to-day Application Management support for SAP applications across service requests, incident, enhancement, change, and problem management as a Level 2 or 3 specialist
Provide senior-level support for SAP ABAP development, including customizations, enhancements, and bug fixes across multiple SAP environments
Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex ABAP programs and solutions
Perform code reviews, performance tuning, and optimization of ABAP programs
Collaborate with functional and technical teams to gather requirements and assess business needs
Lead resolution of complex technical issues and system outages, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on SAP ABAP requirements and programs
Develop and maintain technical documentation, system configuration, installation procedures, and guidelines
Mentor and train junior SAP ABAP team members
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and SAP best practices to drive automation and innovation
Participate in on-call rotation and provide off‑hours support
Work shift hours according to client requirements
Lead strategy, architecture, and delivery of cloud‑based SAP BTP solutions

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experiences
At least 8+ years of experience in the SAP domain
At least 3–4 years in a managerial or team lead role
Proven experience designing complex integrations, cloud applications, and security architectures
Experience delivering SAP projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering through implementation
Understanding of SAP functional modules and business processes
Ability to translate business requirements and issues into technical solutions
Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues in multi-region environments
Experience working with global, multi-regional teams
Flexibility to work shifts and be on call for critical business requirements
Strong knowledge of SAP BTP services, including Cloud Foundry/Kyma
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, API management, and CAP/Node.js/Java development frameworks
Proven experience in team leadership, project management, delivery excellence, and stakeholder management
Extensive hands‑on BTP development experience
Experience designing, developing, and deploying ABAP solutions within SAP BTP
