Job summary

Codewalla in Chennai seeks a TechOps Engineer to ensure smooth IT operations, providing end-user support and managing assets in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3+ years in TechOps/IT support, strong Windows/macOS skills, basic Linux, and experience with M365 or Google Workspace, plus familiarity with Jira/ServiceNow/Freshservice and cloud concepts.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in TechOps, IT Support, Desktop Support, or System Administration.
  • Proficient with Windows, macOS and basic Linux administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace administration.
  • Understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN, WiFi.
  • Familiarity with identity management solutions.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems (Jira, Freshservice, ServiceNow, Zendesk).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security, antivirus, and patch management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide L1/L2 technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other IT assets.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows, macOS, and Linux OS.
  • Manage user onboarding and offboarding including provisioning and access setup.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace users, groups, licenses.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues (VPN, WiFi, DNS, DHCP, LAN).
  • Support video conferencing platforms and remote users; rely on endpoint security solutions.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, software licensing, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor endpoint health and apply security updates; ensure patch compliance.
  • Work with ticketing systems to manage incidents and requests within SLAs.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering teams to resolve escalations.
  • Document SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in IT process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Support day-to-day office IT and workplace requirements.
  • Coordinate with HR/Operations on IT and workplace needs.
  • Liaise with vendors for procurement, installation, and service issues.

Job Title: TechOps Engineer (L1/L2 Technical Support)

Role Overview:

Codewalla is looking for a TechOps Engineer to ensure smooth and reliable day-to-day IT operations by providing timely end-user support, managing IT assets and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues. The role is ideal for a hands-on problem solver who enjoys supporting users, resolving technical challenges, and maintaining a dependable IT environment in a fast-paced workplace.

What we look for:

  • 3+ years of experience in TechOps, IT Support, Desktop Support, or System Administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with Windows, macOS, and basic Linux administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace administration.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN, and WiFi.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra ID), or identity management solutions is preferred.
  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or similar solutions is an advantage.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems such as Jira Service Management, Freshservice, ServiceNow, or Zendesk.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security tools, antivirus solutions, and patch management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of issues and follow through to resolution.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.

What you will do:

  • Provide L1/L2 technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other IT assets.

  • Administer Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace, including user management, group policies, and license administration.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, VPN, WiFi, DNS, DHCP, and LAN connectivity issues.
  • Support video conferencing platforms, remote users, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, software licensing, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor endpoint health, antivirus compliance, system patching, and security updates.
  • Work with ticketing systems to manage incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering teams to resolve escalated issues.
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in IT process improvements, automation initiatives, and security compliance activities.
  • Support day-to-day business operational requirements of the office.
  • Coordinate with HR, Operations, Finance and leadership on IT and workplace requirements.
  • Support office setup, workstation planning, employee seating changes, new equipment deployment and technology requirements for events or meetings.
  • Coordinate with building management, internet providers, office service providers, and other vendors to resolve operational issues.
  • Source quotations, evaluate vendors, compare pricing and specifications, and coordinate internal procurement approvals.
  • Coordinate with vendors for purchase, delivery, installation, repairs, warranty claims, AMC, replacements, and service issues.
  • Maintain purchase orders, quotations, invoices, contracts, and other vendor documentation.
  • Track IT-related expenses and support budgeting, cost control, and technology procurement planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.
