Job summary

ExxonMobil seeks a Lubricant Technology Developer to lead end-to-end product development and manage 3rd party testing coordination for new lubricant formulations. You will drive formulation studies, assess additives, and integrate commercial requirements across OEM specifications.

You will collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing and R&D teams to deliver technically robust solutions, ensure regulatory compliance, and support product releases globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Master’s in engineering (Chemical/Mechanical) or master’s or above in Science with strong academic record (CGPA 75%+).
• Experience in Developing Lubricants, Formulation Chemistry, exposure to lubricant additives and testing.
• Good verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
• Solution seeker with ability to evaluate different approaches.
• Commercial drive to translate technology to market success and manage risk.
• Excellent collaboration and end-to-end project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate external testing of lubricant formulations and maintain test catalog updates.
• Set up and execute purchase orders, track progress and follow up.
• Arrange commercial lubricant sample shipments to customers, OEMs and labs.
• Perform testing and data collection for prototype formulations and benchmarks.
• Source new suppliers with Procurement based on technical and commercial feasibility.
• Support product and component releases and review raw material waivers.
• Handle trade regulations, HS codes and Reach compliance.
• Ensure documentation, collateral and labels are up to date.
• Coordinate claims management and maintain central records.

What role you will play in our team

You will be a key enabler of Lubricant Technology Development Program. Will independently lead sub activities related to New Product Development and deployment. You will also be responsible for end-to-end 3rd party test co-ordination for Product development projects, and products related to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) requirements

What you will do

• Understand customer needs by working with the business and directly with customers as applicable research, understand, and articulate technology trends, standards, customer requirements, and competitive threats.
• Feed technology trends and competitive insights to the Technology Program Manager/Technology Integration Manager (TPM/TIM)Support Product Line Management and Technology Program Manager/Technology Integration Manager (TPM/TIM) to define project profiles, deliverables, and timing, if needed
• Lead projects from profile definition to commercial launch, including formulation finalization and roll-out support to other functions across the value chain develop test plans, review data, and conduct analysis to define lead technical solution aligned with product profile / deliverable expectations
• Screen new additive and base stock technologies to utilize in advanced lubricant formulations work towards improvement in understanding of formulation fundamentals and lubricant applications incorporate COGS (Cost of Goods)and LVC (Lubes Value Chain) analysis into developments to achieve the most competitive technical and commercial outcome, determine technical readiness for product release
• Actively use and comply with internal processes and systems provide regular updates on project to relevant stakeholders & communicate changes in deliverable / timing
• Support technical input into business processes to prioritize execution and launch solutions provide brand quality approval, waiver requests for plants
• Technical expert for BPI (Brand and Product Integrity)/ manufacturing incidents, works with relevant stakeholders and blend plants on problem identification and resolving and documentation. Participate in, and lead where appropriate, industry committees, in alignment with the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) technology team.

Key interfaces :

Technology Solutions Professional, Product Development Advisor, Product Performance Advisor, Operations/Midstream, Commercial Operations, MBU/Global Marketing and Other stakeholders as necessary

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate external testing of lubricants formulations and related documentation, ensure appropriate allocation of test slots, organize oil sample shipment, monitor test progress, communicate test report. Update of 3rd party test catalogue and price lists.
• Responsible for setup and execution of purchase orders, tracking, and follow-up
• Arrange commercial lubricant sample shipment to customers, OEMs, and labs assist audits in the area of 3rd party testing integrity
• Execute testing and data collection for small studies (prototype formulations, competitive benchmarks, etc.) coordinate Records of early manufacturing and sales (ROEM/S) collection
• Provide support for sourcing of new suppliers. Work with Procurement to identify new suppliers of existing technology, based on technical, commercial and operation feasibility
• Support product and component releases
• Review and approve raw material waivers and shelf-life extensions
• Handling questions on trade regulations, Harmonized System (HS)-codes, tax codes, Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach)
• Help ensure for commercialized products all documentation, collaterals, labels are up to date
• Coordinate claims management activities, including approval of marketing collateral, central share-point maintenance, claims renewals, etc

About You

Skills and Qualifications.

• Bachelors/master’s in engineering (Chemical/Mechanical) or master’s or above in Science (Chemistry or allied subjects) with outstanding academic record with minimum CGPA is 75%
• Experience in Developing Lubricants ,Formulation Chemistry ,exposure to Lubricant additives / Technical Services / Lubricant Testing /Tribology
• Good verbal and written communication skills +collaboration skills
• Solution seeker – ability to critically evaluate different solutions to address need
• Commercial intensity – ability to drive product to commercial success, not just commercialization
• Ability to manage risk.
