About the Role
This Technology Business Management role sits within the Finance & Strategy Hub's Allocation Engineering Team in Pune. It supports Finance Allocation by turning executive, finance, and business priorities into requirements, analysis, reporting, and allocation models that improve cost transparency and decision-making. The team's work focuses on allocation analytics and financial reporting across technology and business cost pools. The role partners with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders to support Technology Business Management, total cost of ownership analysis, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and management reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business, finance, and leadership objectives into clear technical and functional requirements.
- Gather and document requirements, then convert them into operational models, dashboards, and management reports.
- Design, run, and improve allocation methodologies, including showback and chargeback where applicable.
- Import, transform, validate, and rationalize data from source systems and internal repositories.
- Run monthly allocation processes by loading, validating, reconciling, and reviewing data on schedule.
- Reconcile source data, allocation models, and reporting outputs to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Analyze actuals versus budget and forecast, and explain cost drivers, allocation effects, and trends.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation covering allocation rules, assumptions, data transformations, controls, and process steps.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and management reporting for Finance Allocation and TBM.
- Identify data quality, process, and control issues, and recommend practical remediation and improvements.
- Provide status updates, flag risks and issues early, and recommend mitigation actions.
- Work independently on projects while building strong relationships across distributed teams.
- Contribute to automation, standardization, and reporting enhancements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 9+ years of relevant experience in Technology Business Management, technology finance, financial planning and analysis, cost allocation, management reporting, or a related area.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through large, complex datasets.
- Experience with financial management processes such as budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Understanding of Technology Business Management principles, cost transparency, and total cost of ownership methodologies.
- Ability to work across Finance, Technology, and business functions and interact with multiple management levels.
- Experience gathering business requirements and turning them into models, reports, and process improvements.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and control discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial and technical topics clearly.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to build strong partnerships across direct and virtual teams.
- Strong data manipulation, validation, and reporting skills using Microsoft Excel, Access, and business intelligence platforms.
- Experience working with large financial and operational datasets from multiple source systems.
- Knowledge of financial and technology data structures used for allocation, planning, and reporting.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure and technology domains, including data centers, networks, servers, storage, virtual environments, and application development, to support TBM and cost allocation analysis.
- Experience with Agile delivery practices and tools such as JIRA and TargetProcess, or similar portfolio/project management platforms.
Preferred Skills
- Apptio Cost Transparency experience, preferably version R11 or higher.
- Experience with BI and analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar tools.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry.
- Technology Business Management and/or ITIL experience.
- Experience supporting controlled financial processes, reconciliations, and reporting in a complex organizational environment.
