Job summary

Royal Bank of Scotland in Chennai seeks an experienced Business Analyst at AVP level to translate business needs into clear requirements and drive solutions that align with domain strategy.

You will work across teams to elicit, validate and document business and system requirements, and to write user stories and epics. The role involves supporting UAT and ensuring high-quality UI/UX outcomes.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience in business analysis and an appropriate BA certification.
• Experience in data analysis, including writing and interpreting medium-complexity SQL queries.
• Knowledge of APIs, including request/response payloads.
• Experience delivering high-quality UI/UX outcomes; reading HTML, CSS and JavaScript at a foundational level.
• Ability to work independently and manage ambiguity with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Elicit and understand internal and external technology customer needs; document requirements.
• Capture, validate and document business and system requirements aligned with strategic principles.
• Interact with customers and stakeholders to obtain functional and non-functional needs.
• Analyze requirements and technical specs to develop testable, releasable elements.

• Support feature teams in creating/executing test scenarios and scripts; assist cut-over and implementation tasks.

Join us as a Business Analyst

This is an opportunity for a driven Business Analyst to join us and make a tangible impact on our function

You'll be producing business requirements to inform future state design, as you support teams to understand and link the requirements to the overall domain strategy

What you'll do

You'll support the bank to achieve customer advocacy by eliciting and understanding the internal and external technology customer needs, and analysing, refining, synthesising, translating and ensuring they are documented in a form that can be readily understood by all stakeholders.

We'll look to you to work across teams and stakeholders to capture, validate and document business and system requirements, making sure they are in line with key strategic principles, and translated from business operations, business objectives, or from external requirements.

You'll also:

• Interact with customers, key stakeholders and the team to obtain and document functional and non-functional needs
• Support the team to analyse business requirements and technical specifications to see how they can be developed into small testable and releasable elements
• Elicit and input into writing business requirements, user stories and epics as required using relevant techniques
• Support the feature team in creating and executing test scenarios and test scripts, identifying and supporting cut-over and implementation tasks
• Facilitate UAT as well as supporting platform and feature teams in executing the UAT

The skills you'll need

To take on this role, you'll need at least eight years of experience and an appropriate business analyst certification such as BAX, CPRE or CBAP.

You'll also need:

• Experience in data analysis, including the ability to write and interpret medium-complexity SQL queries
• Knowledge of working with APIs, including an understanding of request and response payloads
• Experience in delivering high-quality UI/UX outcomes, with the ability to read and understand HTML, CSS, and JavaScript at a foundational level
• Experience working independently and effectively managing ambiguity with minimal supervision
