Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technician - Transmission Line to provide field technical assistance for inspections, measurements, testing and pre-commissioning activities at project sites in Gujarat. The role involves collaboration with supervisors and engineers to ensure accurate records and safe operations.

The position requires an ITI or diploma in Electrical (or related) with at least 5 years of field transmission line experience.

Qualifications

• ITI, diploma or equivalent in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical.
• Minimum 5 years of transmission line or substation field experience.
• Practical knowledge of site measurements, tools, test instruments and inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisors and engineers during inspections, measurements and field verification.
• Support foundation, tower erection, stringing, earthing and pre-commissioning checks.
• Record field measurements, test readings, material quantities and equipment details.
• Verify availability and condition of tools, test instruments and safety equipment.
• Assist with conductor-jointing, compression records, earthing measurements and continuity testing.
• Support OPGW testing, tagging, identification and test-record compilation.
• Maintain checklists, daily records, punch lists and work-completion data.
• Assist in material reconciliation and identification of missing, damaged or surplus materials.
• Support final walkdowns and closure of minor punch points.
• Assist in tower numbering, phase marking, danger-board installation and route identification.
• Support compilation of as-built data and handover documentation.
• Perform only those testing or operational activities for which the individual is trained and authorized.

Position Overview

Additional Information

The position will be site-based atKhavda or Suratand may require travel between project locations, contractor offices, manufacturing facilities and client offices.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary AECOM Energy team supporting the safe and successful delivery of major HVDC and transmission infrastructure projects.
