Job summary

AECOM seeks a Supervisor - Electrical - Transmission Line to oversee stringing, sagging, and pre-commissioning activities for HV transmission work. The role requires inspecting hardware, managing tensioning gear, and ensuring adherence to safety and project requirements.

The candidate will monitor coil and jointing processes, verify cable terminations, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams across sites in Khavda or Surat, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of EHV transmission line stringing experience.
• Knowledge of tension stringing, sag-tension calculations, OPGW and transmission line hardware.
• Experience in crossing protection and pre-commissioning checks.

Responsibilities

• Verify approved stringing method statements, sag-tension charts and drum schedules.
• Inspect conductor, earth wire, OPGW, insulators, fittings, joints and hardware before use.
• Check tensioners, pullers, compressors, dynamometers and testing-equipment calibration.
• Monitor pilot-wire installation, conductor pulling, tension control and roller arrangements.
• Verify mid-span joints, repair sleeves, dead-end compression joints and jumper connections.
• Monitor sagging, temperature correction, clipping and final conductor positioning.
• Check insulator-string assembly, hardware orientation, arcing horns, grading rings and vibration dampers.
• Verify OPGW jointing, splicing, joint boxes, down leads and optical testing.
• Monitor special-crossing arrangements and ensure compliance with approved crossing plans.
• Verify minimum electrical and statutory clearances.
• Check tower earthing, continuity and measured earth resistance.
• Inspect phase configuration, line transposition and tower accessories.
• Conduct or witness pre-commissioning checks including continuity, insulation, OPGW and clearance verification.
• Maintain stringing, sagging, jointing and pre-commissioning records.
• Support final walkdown, punch-list closure and line-readiness certification.

Education

Position Overview:

AECOM is looking for the position ofSupervisor - Electrical - Transmission Line, who will supervise conductor, earth wire and OPGW stringing, sagging, clipping, hardware installation and pre-commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify approved stringing method statements, sag-tension charts and drum schedules.

• Check tensioners, pullers, compressors, dynamometers and testing-equipment calibration.

Additional Information

The position will be site-based atKhavda or Suratand may require travel between project locations, contractor offices, manufacturing facilities and client offices.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary AECOM Energy team supporting the safe and successful delivery of major HVDC and transmission infrastructure projects.
