Job summary

Accenture Song Kochi invites an experienced Technical Test Lead to drive end-to-end testing and automation initiatives. You will mentor the QA team and align testing with SDLC objectives across development and DevOps teams.

You will oversee automation strategy, design scalable frameworks for UI and API tests, and integrate automation into CI/CD, guiding stakeholders to achieve quality goals in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation completed in a relevant field.
• 5–8 years of software testing experience with 2–3 years in a lead role.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall automation testing strategy aligned with project goals.
• Identify automation candidates, perform ROI, and prioritize test cases for automation.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
• Lead automation test plans with objectives, scope, tools, timelines and risks.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for web apps, REST APIs, and backend services.
• Review automation code and results to ensure quality and standards.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, BA, Devs and stakeholders to translate requirements into test scenarios.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable execution.
• Troubleshoot framework, environment, and data issues to improve stability.

Your leadership will help ensure quality standards across all aspects of the SDLC - from planning to delivery. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and business teams to align QA efforts with overall project goals.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall automation testing strategy, ensuring alignment with project and product goals.
• Identify areas suitable for automation, perform ROI analysis, and prioritize test cases for automation.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks for both UI and API testing using industry best practices (e.g., Hybrid, BDD, POM).
• Lead the creation of comprehensive automation test plans outlining objectives, scope, tools, timelines, risks, and mitigation strategies aligned with business goals.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites for web applications, REST APIs, and backend services.
• Review automation code, test scripts, and execution results to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to automation standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and automation solutions.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable execution as part of the continuous delivery process.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve automation framework, environment, configuration, and test data issues to improve execution stability and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QA engineers by establishing automation standards, coding practices, and testing best practices.
• Monitor automation coverage, execution trends, defect metrics, and overall quality KPIs, providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing processes, automation frameworks, tooling, and overall quality engineering practices.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of Agile teams.
• Evaluate and recommend new testing tools, frameworks, AI-assisted solutions, and engineering practices to continuously enhance the QA automation capability.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools and workflows to improve requirement analysis, test design, automation development, defect analysis, and overall QA productivity.

Professional & Technical Skills

• 5-8 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2-3 years in a lead role.
• Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable UI automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent.
• Solid hands-on experience in API testing and API automation, including framework design and implementation using Playwright API, Karate, Rest Assured, Postman, or equivalent.
• Proficient in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with Python is an added advantage.
• Expertise in automation frameworks such as Cucumber, JUnit, or TestNG.
• Hands-on experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent.
• Experience working with Git-based version control systems such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab.
• Good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and DevOps practices.
• Good understanding of AI-assisted Software Testing and the effective use of AI tools to improve requirement analysis, test design, automation, and overall QA productivity.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead QA teams and drive quality initiatives.

Additional Skills

• Experience in performance testing using k6, JMeter, Gatling, or equivalent tools will be an added advantage
• Exposure to mobile automation frameworks such as Appium.
• Experience with Component Testing and modern frontend testing practices.
• Good to have experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing using platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized testing environments.
• Understanding of application security testing practices and tools such as OWASP ZAP.
• Good to have experience generating automation reports using tools such as Allure Reports, Extent Reports, or equivalent.
• Exposure to accessibility testing using tools such as Axe, Lighthouse, Accessibility Insights, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is an added advantage.
