Job summary

Origin Control Solutions Ltd in Bengaluru is seeking a Technical Sourcing Engineer to own global component sourcing, vendor qualification, and manufacturing coordination across electrical and embedded systems.

You will bridge Engineering, Contract Manufacturers, and Suppliers to ensure production readiness, quality alignment, and cost optimization, supporting long-term supplier development for new robot versions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in technical sourcing or procurement of electrical & electronics components.
• Hands-on global sourcing experience beyond India is required.
• Strong understanding of EMS, wiring harnesses, and embedded electronics industries.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of import/export processes and supplier terms.

Responsibilities

• Source electrical/electronics components (motors, drivers, PCBs, connectors, harnesses, sensors, controllers, batteries).
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with global suppliers across India, China, and other regions.
• Build and maintain an Approved Vendor List (AVL) with 3–5 qualified vendors per critical BOM item.
• Drive BOM standardization and technical alignment with engineering teams for strategic sourcing.
• Conduct vendor audits and capability assessments; validate manufacturing capability vs claims.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers for EMS, assembly, testing, and pilot manufacturing readiness.
• Align SOPs, quality checks, and manufacturing documentation between Origin and suppliers.
• Drive BOM cost optimization and lead-time reduction through strategic and alternate sourcing.
• Maintain procurement trackers, inventory visibility, and supply chain risk dashboards.
• Support long-term vendor development for upcoming robot versions and scale-up programs.

About the role

The Technical Sourcing Engineer will own global component sourcing, vendor qualification, and manufacturing coordination across electrical, and embedded systems. This role acts as the technical bridge between Engineering, Contract Manufacturers, and Suppliers to ensure production readiness, quality alignment, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Source electrical/electronics components (motors, drivers, PCBs, connectors, harnesses, sensors, controllers, batteries).
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with global suppliers across India, China, and other sourcing regions.
• Build and maintain an Approved Vendor List (AVL) with 3–5 qualified vendors per critical BOM line item, with aligning standard SLAs with the approved vendors.
• Drive BOM standardization and technical alignment with engineering teams for Strategic sourcing of new components or new vendors for existing components.
• Conduct vendor audits and capability assessments; validate real manufacturing capability vs claims.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers for EMS, assembly, testing, and pilot manufacturing readiness.
• Align SOPs, quality checks, and manufacturing documentation between Origin and suppliers.
• Drive BOM cost optimization and lead‑time reduction through structured Strategic and alternate sourcing.
• Maintain procurement trackers, inventory visibility, and supply chain risk dashboards.
• Support long‑term vendor development for upcoming robot versions and scale‑up programs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in technical sourcing or procurement of electrical & Electronics components.
• Hands‑on global sourcing experience (mandatory exposure beyond India).
• Strong understanding of EMS, wiring harnesses, and embedded electronics industries.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of import/export processes and supplier commercial terms.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in robotics, automation, EV, or industrial equipment Organizations.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers (EMS / ODM / OEM).
• Knowledge of IPC standards, ISO quality systems, and manufacturing SOPs.
• Exposure to ERP or procurement management systems.
• Strong negotiation and vendor development skills.
