Job summary

Google Cloud Platform team helps customers transform and build what's next for their business — a cloud-first approach aimed at security, reliability, and scalability. As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will own large customer issues and provide level two support to our teams globally.

You will troubleshoot problems spanning debugging, networking, system administration, and scripting, and contribute to product improvements while advocating for customer needs with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs.
• 5 years of experience with computer networking and web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS).
• Experience with one or more core programming or scripting languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Experience with Linux/Unix or other operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support.
• Diagnose, resolve, or investigate tools to help customers on Google Cloud Platform products.
• Act as a consultant for Engineering, Sales, and customer organizations to resolve deployment obstacles.
• Develop understanding of Google's product technology and architectures by troubleshooting customer issues.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering teams to improve the product and advocate for customer needs.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs, and triaging technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process).
• 5 years of experience with computer networking and web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML, DNS, etc.).
• Experience with one or more core programming or scripting languages (e.g., C, C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash/Shell, Perl, Visual Basic).
• Experience with Linux/Unix or other operating systems.

Preferred qualifications

• Vmware certification.
• Experience with any of the following solutions: system virtualization, on-premise or hybrid cloud computing.
• Experience with cloud computing (i.e., certifications, internships, coursework, etc.) and debugging complex workload issues across large-scale, multi-node environments.
• Experience working with distributed systems.
• Expertise on Vsphere,VCF,VSAN, NSX,HCX and Vmware Vitualisation.
• Familiarity with common solutions, design patterns, or best practices.

As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will own our large and important customer issues in addition to providing level two support to our other support teams. You will be a part of a global team that provides 24x7 support to help customers seamlessly make the switch to Google Cloud.

In this role, you will troubleshoot technical problems for customers with a mix of debugging, networking, system administration, updating documentation, and when needed, coding/scripting. You will make our products easier to adopt and use by making improvements to the product, tools, processes and documentation. Our Technical Solutions team is driven by customers and you will help drive the success of Google Cloud by understanding and advocating for our customers’ issues.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support.
• Manage the customer’s problem through effective diagnosis, resolution, or investigation tools implementation to increase productivity for customer issues on Google Cloud Platform products.
• Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for Engineering, Sales, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
• Develop an understanding of Google's product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, determining the root cause for customer reported issues, and building tools for faster diagnosis.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to improve the product, and interact with Site Reliability Engineering teams to drive high-quality production. Understand customer issues and advocate for their needs with cross-functional teams.
