Role overview
Deltacubes Inc. is seeking a client-facing Technical Solution Architect to lead Dynamics 365 F&O engagements end to end. The architect will design the solution, present and defend it to client stakeholders, and then guide the build through go-live.
This is a hands-on role. The right candidate is equally comfortable in a whiteboard session with executives and in a design review with developers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead requirements discovery and fit-gap analysis across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Project Operations.
- Produce the solution blueprint: architecture, data model, integration design, security model, and environment strategy.
- Define the technical approach for customizations (X++ extensions), integrations, data migration, and reporting.
- Make build-vs-configure decisions that keep the solution close to standard and upgrade-safe.
Design presentation
- Present solution designs, architecture diagrams, and trade-offs to executives, business owners, and IT leadership.
- Run design workshops, solution demos, and conference-room pilots (CRPs).
- Support pre-sales: solution scoping, effort estimates, and technical sections of proposals and SOWs.
Client interaction
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders throughout the engagement.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and explain technical constraints in business terms.
- Manage scope, risks, and design changes with the client and the delivery team.
Implementation
- Guide functional consultants and developers through build, unit testing, SIT, UAT, and cutover.
- Own technical quality: code and design reviews, performance tuning, and adherence to Microsoft best practices.
- Lead data migration, integration testing, and go-live readiness; support hyper care after launch.
- Manage environments and deployments through LCS / Power Platform admin center and Azure DevOps pipelines.
Must-have qualifications
- 1. 6+ years of hands‑on experience with Dynamics 365 F&O and/or Dynamics AX 2012, including at least 2 full‑lifecycle implementations in a solution or technical architect role.
- 2. Proven ability to produce and present solution designs (blueprints, TDDs, architecture diagrams) to senior client stakeholders.
- 3. Strong client‑facing skills: leading workshops, fit‑gap sessions, and design reviews.
- 4. Deep knowledge of the F&O technical stack: X++, extension model, data entities, Data Management Framework (DMF), and batch framework.
- 6. Data migration design and execution for ERP go‑lives.
- 7. Experience with Lifecycle Services (LCS), environment management, and Azure DevOps (source control, build/release pipelines).
- 8. Working knowledge of F&O security roles, duties, and privileges, and of performance troubleshooting.
Good‑to‑have qualifications
- Healthcare industry experience — ERP implementations for hospitals, health systems, payers, life sciences, or medical distribution; familiarity with HIPAA and related compliance.
- Microsoft certifications: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (MB-700), Developer (MB-500), or functional certifications (MB-310, MB-330).
- Microsoft FastTrack or Success by Design experience.
- Power Platform: Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
- Reporting and analytics: SSRS, Electronic Reporting, Export to Data Lake / Synapse Link, Microsoft Fabric.
- AX 2012 to D365 F&O upgrade or migration projects.
- Public sector or government contracting experience.
- Experience working with offshore or distributed delivery teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field.
