Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sell shaped refractories such as MgO-C Bricks, AMC Bricks
- Promote and sell unshaped refractories such as Basic gunning mass, Castables and DVM for tundish, Shotcreting materials
- Participate in RFQs and trials
Application & Performance Monitoring
- Hands‑on monitoring of refractory performance in Ladles (metal zone, slag zone, bottom), EAF/BOF vessels, Tundish lining (DVM, castable), Torpedo and RH degasser applications
- Conduct post‑mortem analysis and life improvement studies
- Track consumption patterns (kg/ton) and suggest optimization
Trial Management & Technical Support
- Plan, execute, and monitor refractory trials at customer sites
- Coordinate with plant operations during installation, gunning, casting, and dry‑out
- Troubleshoot application issues and recommend corrective actions
Customer Relationship & Coordination
- Develop strong relationships with SMS operations, refractory maintenance, and purchase teams
- Act as a single point of contact between customer and plant/technical team
- Provide regular technical reports and performance feedback
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare trial reports, performance reports, and technical presentations
- Maintain data on lining life, consumption, and cost per ton steel
- Support marketing team with case studies and technical inputs
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of SMS refractory practices and failure mechanisms
- Practical experience in gunning, casting, and brick lining supervision
- Understanding of steelmaking processes (Ladle, EAF/BOF, Tundish, RH, Torpedo)
- Ability to interpret refractory wear patterns and recommend solutions
- Good communication and presentation skills for technical discussions
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Ceramic / Metallurgy / Mechanical Engineering
- 8 to 10 years of experience in steel refractory technical sales or application; prior site experience in steel plants is mandatory
