Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project management experience in P&C insurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, or related field.
  • PMP, PgMP, or Scrum Master certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of insurance processes, regulations, and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with program management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Rally).
  • Strategic thinking with a focus on delivering value to the business.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data projects from planning to delivery and closure.
  • Run daily Scrum calls, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate a team of Databricks Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Modelers, and other data professionals.
  • Maintain the Azure DevOps (ADO) Board with work items, stories, tasks, and dependencies.
  • Ensure the ADO Board reflects current project and sprint status for tracking.
  • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables with technical teams.
  • Drive project execution using Agile/Scrum methodologies to meet scope and quality standards.
  • Provide technical direction on data engineering, architecture, modeling, and Databricks solutions.
  • Track progress, risks, dependencies, blockers, and drive them to closure.
  • Coordinate with Product Owners, Analysts, Architects, Engineers, and stakeholders for alignment.
  • Monitor sprint commitments, team capacity, velocity, and delivery metrics.
  • Update project plans, sprint backlogs, action items, risks, and dependencies timely.
  • Communicate project status, risks, decisions to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support the team in resolving technical challenges and cross-workstream collaboration.
  • Ensure governance, processes, and quality standards are followed.
  • Manage multiple priorities and maintain timelines and business outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery processes and Agile practices.

We are looking for an experienced Data Technical Project Manager with strong expertise in Data Engineering, Databricks, Agile/Scrum, and end-to-end project delivery. The candidate will be responsible for managing data projects, coordinating cross-functional technical teams, maintaining project governance, and ensuring successful delivery of data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage end-to-end data projects from planning and execution through delivery and closure.
  • Run and facilitate daily Scrum calls, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Guide and coordinate a team comprising Databricks Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Modelers, and other data professionals.
  • Maintain and manage the Azure DevOps (ADO) Board, ensuring work items, user stories, tasks, sprint assignments, status, priorities, and dependencies are updated accurately.
  • Ensure the ADO Board reflects the current project and sprint status and is used effectively for tracking delivery progress.
  • Work closely with technical teams to define project scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Drive project execution using Agile/Scrum methodologies, ensuring timely delivery within agreed scope and quality standards.
  • Provide technical direction and facilitate discussions around data engineering, data architecture, data modeling, and Databricks solutions.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, issues, dependencies, and blockers, and drive them to closure.
  • Coordinate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment.
