We pioneered the first complete EHR, practice, and optical management system for eye care professionals in 1994, and we also provide high-quality revenue cycle management (RCM) solutions.
Our major software development, tech support, and IT-enabled services operate out of our Pune, India office. To meet expanding business needs, we are hiring a qualified Project Manager to lead one of our engineering teams.
Function Summary
The Project Manager will plan, execute, and oversee projects to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget. This role combines traditional project management, Agile/Scrum coaching, and AI/Automation leadership to drive team maturity, optimize resource utilization, and scale engineering productivity.
Essential Job Functions
1. Project Management & Delivery
- Scope & Planning: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; develop detailed roadmaps, plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Execution & Monitoring: Lead project teams, allocate resources, assign tasks, and track performance using tools like JIRA, VSTS, or TFS.
- Quality Control: Enforce strict code reviews, unit testing, load testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to maintain high-quality release metrics.
- Deployment & Integration: Manage controlled releases and cloud deployments, ensuring seamless application performance and external application integration.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain project documentation and present status updates, risks, and performance metrics to senior management.
2. Agile & Scrum Facilitation
- Coaching & Standards: Establish Agile values and coach the team on Scrum methodologies, patterns, and self-organization. Ceremonies: Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Product Owner Support: Assist the Product Owner with story estimation, backlog health, and transparency metrics.
3. AI, Automation & RPA Leadership
- AI-Driven SDLC: Drive adoption of AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and embed GenAI into drafting stories, test cases, and documentation.
- Intelligent DevOps & QA: Champion AI-augmented testing (e.g., Mabl, Playwright) and AIOps for automated PR summaries, anomaly detection, and reduced MTTR.
- Workflow & RPA Automation: Identify and implement RPA and low-code solutions (e.g., Power Automate, Zapier) to automate repetitive workflows across engineering, QA, and billing/RCM.
- Predictive Planning: Use JIRA/DevOps AI features for predictive velocity, story-point suggestions, and risk forecasting.
- Metrics & Governance: Track AI productivity KPIs (e.g., % code authored via AI, RPA hours saved) and establish security guardrails (HIPAA compliance, IP protection, and human-in-the-loop reviews).
- Team Upskilling: Conduct prompt-engineering workshops and continuously evaluate new AI tools for the company's internal toolbox.
- Healthcare AI Innovation: Partner with leadership to explore EHR/RCM-specific AI use cases, such as claim-scrubbing automation and intelligent OCR.
4. Leadership & People Management
- Team Building: Hire highly qualified resources, manage resource pooling, and handle onboarding.
- Talent Development: Mentor junior members, resolve conflicts, and cultivate a culture of recognition and mutual respect.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Methodologies: Strong knowledge of the PMI framework, Scrum, and exposure to other Agile frameworks (Kanban, Lean, SAFe, LeSS, XP).
- Agile Practices: Expertise in User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration/Continuous Testing, and burndown/up techniques.
- Leadership Style: Proven servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, and negotiation skills.
- Technical & Domain Awareness: Applicable technical knowledge of software architectures, cloud hosting, and healthcare compliance regulations (HIPAA/PHI). Hands-on, working-level experience with .NET, React, Node.js, and Python is required to credibly guide engineering teams, review technical decisions, and assess code quality across the stack.
- AI & Automation Tools: Familiarity with GenAI platforms, AI-test automation suites, RPA tools, and low-code integrations.
- Soft Skills: Excellent time management, problem-solving under pressure, and strong presentation skills.
Experience and Education
- Education: BE / MCA / MSc in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Overall Experience: Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the software industry.
- Management Experience: At least 5+ years in a dedicated Project Management / Scrum Master role.
- Core Track Record: Proven experience managing software development teams diligently applying Scrum principles, with a demonstrated interest or experience in implementing AI-driven engineering practices.
