Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking an experienced power electronics engineer in Bengaluru to lead the development of high-frequency, on-line UPS systems and Smart PDUs. You will guide prototypes, verify designs, and collaborate with business units to ensure timely, quality delivery for critical operations.

The role requires deep knowledge of analog/digital circuitry, microcontrollers, EMI/EMC, and experience taking products from design through manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BE / BTech in Electrical / Electronics Engineering; masters a plus.
• 7–10+ years in power conversion, UPS, chargers, or AC drives.
• Strong high-frequency magnetics design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of high-frequency On-line UPS and Smart PDU.
• Oversee prototype assembly and engineering docs.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
• Coordinate resources with BU engineering leaders and teams.
• Drive NPI from concept to manufacturing launch.

Job Summary:

The purpose of the position is to utilize knowledge of analog, digital, power electronics, and firmware design to lead the development of High Frequency On-Line UPS, Smart PDU with surge protection. The individual is an energetic, experienced professional who can work both individually and with a team. The successful candidate will contribute proven and innovative techniques to design, develop, and deliver competitive products to the market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop power electronics for high frequency On-line UPS , Smart PDU.
• Orchestrate the assembly of electronic prototypes.
• Choreograph engineering documentation.
• Management of local team ensuring the productivity of the employees.
• Work closely with BU engineering leaders to ensure the resources are effectively and appropriately loaded.
• Be the single point of contact for the BUs under the division.
• Accountable for all deliverables as per expected quality, schedule & cost targets.
• Management of assigned projects from concept to commercialization.
• Develop and validate power stages and perform detailed design verification testing (Regulation, Programming accuracy, transient performance, FMEA etc.)
• Lead successful NPI of the product from manufacturing to launch.
• Implementing upgrades, new features for the existing product lines.
• Provide engineering support of including: troubleshooting hardware problems/failures and to find root‑cause; proposing solutions to overcome product problems; evaluating hardware and making recommendations for improvements; processing product documentation, (schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, ECOs, etc.…).
• Conduct evaluation testing of products and generate formal summary reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BE / BTech in Electrical / Electronic Engineering; a master’s PhD degree is a plus.
• Around 7-10+ years of experience developing power conversion products (UPS, battery chargers, AC drive )
• High frequency Magnetics design
• Experience with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
• Experience working with analog, digital, and microcontroller circuits.
• Experience in New Product Introduction from Design phase to successful manufacturing.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with safety agencies such as UL, CSA, IEC, CE, and CEC.
• Knowledge of MIL standards, EMI requirements.
• Strong technical project management competencies and problem‑solving skills.
