Job Description Summary

This role will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives for Heavy Duty Generators and associated scope. The Technical Leader will integrate, develop, and deliver the engineering solutions to meet customer requirements and deliver to improve deal win probability. You will be responsible to provide guidance/mentoring to other Engineers in the Applications group, including globally located team members AND involves in long term planning with Equipment Application Engineering Leader across the globe.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Generator Application Engineering – Technical Leader you will:

· Be responsible for the technical content of proposals for GE Vernova Combined Cycle power plant configuration, working with the Commercial Operations and Design Engineering teams to win new orders

· Act as the engineering interface to Sales and Commercial teams for technical support involving all resources relative to design, production, availability, and performance of GE Vernova equipment during the proposal phase of a project

· Work closely with cross-functional team on the introduction of new NPI features and products to increase deal competitiveness

· Provide oversight and direction to ensure GEN AE (Generator Application Engineering) team success and quality of proposals across across the poles.

· Lead the interactions with Regional Customer Application Engineering, Value Solution Leader, Product Line, Product Engineering, Execution Engineering, global Generator Application Engineering Technical Leaders/Subject Matter Experts and work collaborative to deliver quality proposals.

· Partner with the EAE resource managers in the development of the GEN AEs and provide feedback

· Assist the EAE resource managers with distribution of proposal workload by maintaining awareness of the strengths and capabilities of the team members in Asia Pole.

· Define proposal strategy related with generator and associated equipment on complex and large projects.

· Establish and provide technical training and development for the GEN AE team.

· Be a technical mentor to less experienced engineer(s), supportive.

· Partner with global TLs on the process, tools & methods improvement to drive quality and productivity across global GEN AE team

· Use knowledge and expertise to market winning proposals in anticipation of business product needs.

· Provide technical review, comments and consultation to Customers and internal GEV team on gas turbine and associated scope.

· Promote/share Asia pole needs with TLs & Consulting Engineer and leverage the technical depth of the global team.

· Lead detailed cost/scope reviews for key deals with support from Costing team as needed.

· Support early influencing effort for aligning customer closer to the Preferred Configuration.

· Participate as needed in EPDR, PCCB, ERRM reviews

· Available for any international travel for supporting the customer clarifications in short notice

Qualifications/Requirements

· Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience.

· Minimum 10 years of experience in design engineering and/or application engineering in the Power industry.

· Significant experience working with customers on combined cycle power projects.

· Minimum 3 years of prior experience in the tendering and deal strategy for the new unit/services generator application.

· Sound knowledge of heavy-duty generator product portfolio, design of generators and associated equipment for power plants

· Ability to understand technical requirements for combined cycle plants, generators and associated equipment and come up with technical solutions

· Good experience of generator performance, define the best solution for positioning the product competitively. ·

· Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal, mentoring and management skills

· Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art generators, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within this field both internally and externally.
