Job summary

ZF Group in Chennai, India seeks a Technical Lead – System Engineer (m/f/d) to drive system and safety solutions. You will work with internal and external teams to analyze requirements and develop architecture, then validate through simulation, bench and field testing with rapid prototyping.

The role requires expertise in control theory, automotive bus systems, FMEA, ISO26262 and ASPICE, plus a valid truck driver's license.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing system and safety requirements in an automotive context.
• Strong knowledge of control theory and rapid prototyping
• Expertise in automotive bus systems and diagnostics
• Proficient in environmental, EMC testing and reliability practices
• Strong FMEA, ISO26262 and ASPICE familiarity
• Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics and steering systems
• Valid truck driver's license

Responsibilities

• Technical development of system and safety solutions in collaboration with internal and external groups.
• Analyze stakeholder requirements and translate into system requirements.
• Develop system architecture and element requirements.
• Perform simulation, bench and truck testing using rapid prototyping.
• Act as SME for team and customers on system topics from non-functional to end-of-line specs.
• Commissioning of systems and system calibration.
• Support FMEA and reliability activities.

• Analysis of stakeholder requirements
• Development of system requirements
• Development of system architecture definition and appropriate element requirements
• Simulation, bench and truck testing for system, safety and functionalities using Rapid Control Prototyping to create and improve functional and non-functional requirements in cooperation with the Function & Controls Engineer
• Subject matter expert for team & customers on assigned system topics ranging from non-functional requirements (e.g. vibration) via functional requirements to end-of-line specification and mission profile
• Commissioning of systems and system calibration
• Conceptual design of necessary vehicles, system benches and tests Support of FMEA and reliability work
