Job summary

Rarr Technologies is seeking a senior embedded software architect to own design for IoT edge platforms. You will lead technical reviews, implement high-performance Linux applications for ARM/x86, and shape edge-to-cloud communication using MQTT and Sparkplug B.

You will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD pipelines, and guide OTA updates with Canonical Snap, enabling scalable, reliable device fleets across diverse industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of embedded/edge software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go, C/C++, Rust, and Python.

• Concurrency, multi-threading, debugging, and performance optimization.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Own software architecture and system design for IoT Edge and Embedded platforms.
• Lead technical design reviews, POCs, technology evaluations, and architectural decisions.
• Develop high-performance, multi-threaded and event-driven applications for Linux/ARM/x86 (AMD) platforms.
• Build scalable edge applications using Go , C/C++ , Rust , and Python .
• Design reliable edge-to-cloud communication using MQTT , Sparkplug B , and JSON .
• Work with industrial protocols such as Modbus and CCN (preferred).
• Drive CI/CD and automation using CircleCI , including build, test, deployment, and release processes.
• Define secure device deployment and OTA update strategies using Canonical Snaps .
• Enable remote monitoring, diagnostics, fleet management, and device lifecycle management.
• Mentor engineers on architecture, design patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor to improve engineering productivity and quality.

Required Skills
