Job summary

Larsen & Toubro's EPS Mobility unit seeks a Technical Leader – MCU to own the product strategy, roadmap and technical direction for motor control platforms. You will shape architecture, define multi-year plans and drive market-winning features with measurable business impact.

Lead cross-functional teams, translate customer needs into prioritized features, and ensure safety and performance through robust design and verification. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role in Bengaluru, India.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Science Engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience in motor control systems, power electronics, or embedded systems for automotive or industrial applications.
  • Strong understanding of motor control principles (BLDC, PMSM, or induction motor).
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems and microcontroller architectures (Infineon, NXP, TI, Renesas etc.).
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR, embedded C, and real-time OS concepts.
  • Proven experience with ISO 26262 Functional Safety (ASIL C/D systems).
  • Familiarity with hardware-software co-design, power stage topologies, and inverter architecture.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS).
  • Good understanding of vehicle communication networks and diagnostic standards (UDS, ISO 14229).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and system-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define multi-year product vision and platform strategy for MCU-based motor control.
  • Build 2–3 year product roadmaps and quarterly release plans.
  • Create segment-specific variants with reusable core components.
  • Establish PRDs and technical roadmaps with clear value propositions.
  • Run portfolio reviews and gate decisions (business case, TCO, ROI).
  • Define end-to-end system architecture for the MCU (hardware, software, control algorithms, interfaces, diagnostics).
  • Translate market trends and customer feedback into prioritized features.
  • Drive competitive benchmarking of algorithms, EMI/thermal performance, toolchains, and cost.
  • Engage with customers, OEMs and partners to shape the roadmap and co-development models.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to drive product strategy and development.

Business Unit: EPS Mobility
Role: Technical Leader – MCU (Motor Control Unit)
The Technical Leader for Motor Control Unit (MCU) is responsinle to own the product strategy, roadmap, and technical direction for our motor control platform(s). This role blends deep motor control expertise with product leadership—defining the vision, aligning cross ? functional execution, shaping the architecture, and delivering market ? winning features with measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define multi ? year product vision and platform strategy for MCU ? based motor control (features, performance tiers, safety, cybersecurity, connectivity).
  • Build 2–3 year product roadmaps and quarterly release plans balancing new features, performance improvements, and technical debt reduction.
  • Create segment ? specific variants with reusable core components and configurable options.
  • Establish product requirement documents (PRD) and technical roadmaps with clear value propositions and target metrics (efficiency, torque ripple, start ? up robustness, diagnostics coverage).
  • Run portfolio reviews and gate decisions (business case, TCO, ROI, build vs. buy, reuse vs. new). Define the end-to-end system architecture for the Motor Control Unit (MCU), covering hardware, software, control algorithms, communication interfaces, and diagnostics.
  • Translate Market Trends, RFQs and customer feedback into prioritized product features
  • Drive Competitive benchmarking (algorithms, control loops, EMI/thermal performance, toolchains, cost)
  • Engage with key customers, OEMs and partners to shape the roadmap and co-development models
  • Interface with cross-functional teams like Program Management, Business Development and Engineering teams to drive Product strategy and development
